Here we have a boy and a "blob" that likes all kinds of candies. When the blob eats these candies, it transforms into different tools the boy can use. Note: The Japanese version of this game (Fushigina Blobby - Blobania no Kiki) has a different boy than this USA version, but otherwise the games are the same. Again this is a new record time. 	Addams Family - 14:46 (US version, emulated run) - Hans Olsson (aka. Walker Boh) This timeattack is about Addams Family, but not the Fester's Quest one. This is really the seventh version, and the first published version. Note: This movie may not look cool, but the player is not to be blamed. The game is a little bad. You have to avoid objects by afar if you don't want to get hit, and you really have to collect $1M to complete the game. In my opinion Hans has done very good job perfecting this movie. 	Adventures of Bayou Billy (NES) - 18:10 (US version, emulated run) - Phil Côté Bayou Billy's girlfriend has been kidnapped by Gordon, the crime boss of the swamps, and Billy's out for some revenge. Despite consisting mostly of side-scrolling combat stages, THE ADVENTURES OF BAYOU BILLY is cool because it also contains racing and shooting levels. The american version is a lot harder than the japanese one(Mad City). In this video, it doesn't seem so. 	The Adventures of Rad Gravity (NES) - 17:51 (US version, emulated run) - Torfi Gunnarsson (aka. Blublu) Here's my Rad Gravity run. I must give thanks to Spoony Bard. Without his first version, I would never have been motivated enough to make this run. My general route is basically the same, but with lots of optimizations in each level. I discovered that the disk that allows you to fly isn't actually neccesary. However, it does allow for a nice shortcut. 	Altered Beast (Genesis) - 06:22 (US version, emulated speedrun) - Danny Fowler Altered Beast is a game that looks like it could have been found in an arcade playing machine. In each level, the player must beat collect 3 powerups in order to transform into a powerful beast and fight the boss of that level. This game was one of the first games of the Sega Genesis system. This might look like it's an auto-scrolling game, but in fact the scroll speed depends on if there's any enemies on screen... 	Battle of Olympus (NES) - 19:52 (US version, emulated run) - Jeff C (aka. Arc) Battle of Olympus improved by 3:33. I'll try to only talk about the most important points: The main thing to talk about is olive collection. 60 olives have to be collected to buy the ocarina. Instead of devoting time to collecting them like Jackic did, I just collected them along the route. However, this did require a lot of planning, because there are only about ~78 single-attack-death enemies with the potential to drop olives before reaching Poseidon, who sells the ocarina... As always, a bug on level 11 prevents player 2 from moving, so he gets a gameover for that level. Player 1 plays level 11 alone and player 2 comes back for level 12. Unfortunately the ninja didn't have time for that, he just walks past all baddies and kills the bosses. This syndicate turns out to be selling drugs, but the Black Manta sets them straight: "Drugs kill you think you're cool but you're not." Yeah! 	Blue Shadow (NES) - 12:03 (European version, emulated speedrun) - Timo TaipaleenmÃ¤ki (aka. Shinryuu) This game is known as Shadow of the Ninja in the USA. In this game, jumping and slashing is faster than regular running. Note: This movie was played in NTSC mode, even though the game is a PAL game. Therefore, the AVI plays 16.7% too fast. The real completion time should be 12:03, not 10:02. But even noting that, this is an improvement of almost two minutes over the previous movie by Exim. 	Boulder Dash (NES) - 20:08 (US version, emulated speedrun) - Chris Strake (aka. CtrlAltDestroy) Boulder Dash is a wellknown action-puzzle game where you must collect a quota of diamonds and reach the exit. Normally, standing under any falling object or just getting close to an enemy means instant death, but in this movie the player fearlessly dives trough heaps of falling objects and walks past enemies without a scratch. The original name of the game is 悪魔城伝説. This movie is interesting, because the game is complex and difficult and the soundtrack is good. This movie uses several techniques for speed: * Abusing monsters as a platform for shortcuts * Optimized usage of weapons * Luck abuse for items (Ⅱ and Ⅲ) ― nearly impossible to duplicate * Abusing the main character as a critical hit weapon at bosses * Using bottles to restrain and pass through enemies And standard optimizations such as not using stairs when jumping is possible. You play as Bang, a special ops agent sent to Mt. Demonhead to rescue Professor Plum and retrieve his Doomsday Bomb. The came is comprised over various 'Routes' which are connected at certain nodes. Each Route is a side-scrolling stage with two exits, which will take you to two other nodes. You progress along the map like that, ando nce you get the Hermit's teleportation ability moving around becomes much faster... Whereas the previous movie sometimes went for speed and sometimes for points, this one has speed as the primary goal, and only gets as many points as possible when it doesn't waste time.
