This new work by Jos Smolders is part of his "beeld-kleur" (image-color) series, specifically aimed at "pictorial music" or repesentative music, as opposed to his usually non-figurative compositions. Hemel is dutch for "sky" but also for "heaven." Says Jos: "I sometimes think of Kevin's music as heavenly. I got in contact with Canadian Nicolas Bernier when I wrote a review for his recent solo-release "Ailet l'eau faille by" at No Type-Netlabel. He ordered a bunch of CDrs and after some email chatting, he told me about a special project he's been working on.
