| North Shore - Ryan Kawailani Ozawa
I follow up my "North Shore for the Holidays" video (Dec. 26, 2006) with another visit a year later, this time using my Sanyo Xacti HD700 camera. It's a gray, chilly day and the beach is mostly empty, but hardcore surfers are still out on the waves. I'm still getting used to the camera and the editing software (Final Cut Express 4), but I'm liking it.

| Shave Ice - Ryan Kawailani Ozawa
President's Day 2008 was a spectacularly beautiful day of sun and blue skies, considering the usually grey weather of February. I also unexpectedly had the day off from work. So after a visit to the neighborhood pool, the family and I drove up to Haleiwa for shave ice. Aoki's (66-117 Kamehameha Hwy.) is located a stone's throw from the much more hyped Matsumoto's, but it's our preferred destination for the cool treat.

The Vaughan Homestead on Auckland’s North Shore (New Zealand) was built in 1865. This movie includes interviews with Vaughan family members on life running their 1000 acre cattle farm in the days before shopping malls. Why they had to move out in 1971. How the Torbay Historical Society fought to save the home from demolition in 1991 and why the former farm land is now being turned over to the developers for housing.
