Rot - Greg Fox Two short pieces of music exploring the visual metaphor of an object rotating in three dimensions but displayed in two. (Like for example on a television screen or monitor.) Keywords:Periodic Pointillism; Greg Fox; Reductionism; Modernism Downloads: 11
Des Éléments - Greg Fox A greedy reductionist approach to composition in which all musical phenomena are merely emergent properties of the system. Each element is simply one sine wave of an arbitrary (and randomly derived) pitch sounded for an arbitrary (and randomly derived) period followed by an arbitrary (and randomly derived) period of silence. The elements form a "construction kit" which can then be used to make music following the "Open Source Audio" model (for more see "Malhaus" by Greg Fox from 2006)... Carmen of the Spheres: Anniversary Edition! - Greg Fox OK so it's not quite a year but poor Paul Caller has DIED unfortunately, so this is kind of my pitiful obituary......... love you Mr Caller!! xxxxxxxxxxx Three tracks: the first is 35 minutes long and is a "Carmen of the Spheres" based on sidereal rotation periods instead of sidereal orbital periods........... in other words imagine the planets in a room but not moving, just spinning as they have been: that's this piece! The second track is CD length and is based on both the rotation AND orbital...
