This is the San Pablo City Public Market and Shopping Mall. As far as I know it's unique in that the public market is specifically designed to be on the ground floor while above is a shopping mall. The large mango tree at the center of San Pablo City town plaza has long been a landmark and has been around for as long as anyone can remember. Fondly called "SM" or "Sa Mangga" for short, the mango tree was badly damaged during the the devastation of Typhoon Milenyo on September 28, 2006. I thought of this project after seeing old photographs of San Pablo City, and being fascinated by them. I always wish to see more. I want to see video. I want to see how people lived, moved... how they sounded, what colors there were and so on. Although this is no longer possible, I thought I'd make it possible for future San Pablo City residents to see what life is like here in San Pablo in 2006-2007...

| San Pablo City Archive Project #6: Coconut Festival Day 3 - Gerry Alanguilan
My wife Ilyn and I went out Wednesday night, January 10, 2007, 8:00-9:00pm to check out what was going on in the town plaza on Day 3 of the annual San Pablo City Coconut Festival. The video was taken from many places. The first segment is shot on the overpass stairs beside Central School. The second segment is taken in front of Jollibee along Rizal Avenue. You can vaguely see the Pizza Hut place in the background...
