[audio]H Stewart - De La Souffrance (ca083) - H Stewart
De La Souffrance, or or my suffering is a collection of music which speaks of one's becoming a whole person. It talks of wants, dreams and emotions. The music itself is taken from my own voice, and maniplulated inside several computer programs. The music is from a time when I was left empty, and had to rebuild myself after the loss of loved ones. H. Stewart is an artist that resides just east of the crossroads district in Kansas City...

[audio]H Stewart - Fevered and Childless (ca164) - H Stewart
"Fevered and Childless" marks the moods and wants of a woman, as careless as they may be. This Album is meant to be a sculpture of a woman, left longing, loving, and living. The songs take up many different scapes. H Stewart would like to that Zac Keiller for his collaboration on 'Bled Love', and Kansas City based artist Kristin Meek for her assistance on 'Fevered and Childless'. H Stewart is the Author of 'Porched Hopes', and 'The Unnecessary Flame'.She is 25 years old and resides east of the c...

[audio]H Stewart - Letters to Kansas City (ca278) - H Stewart
"We haven’t much in life, yet we have so much. It is strange how important the small things become. Letters to Kansas City is an ode to H Stewart’s hometown. The songs are written about Kansas City’s neighborhoods, their moods and memories according to H Stewart. The songs were made with a cheap Casio, a used microphone, and a laptop which houses odd programs for sound manipulations. Those things coupled with the memory of home H Stewart create a voiceless album drawing on how little and h...

[audio]H Stewart - Lost (ca203) - H Stewart
"Lost is a collection of music from H Stewart's own personal archives. Lost is a collection of love songs written in a time when love was lost, and ideals were shattered. H Stewart has never recovered from this period and hopes that the release of these songs will be a release from loveless days. H Stewart now resides in Waldo, a south section of Kansas City, Missouri. She is involved in Chemical, and literal arts, as well Experimental Sound...

[audio]H Stewart - To Touch The Taste of Sound (ca049) - H Stewart
"To Touch the Taste of Sound" is a vaque attempt to live up to it's title. The music itself serves as an audio "play" the script writer being my own voice. It is meant to have livid feminity, longing, and actualization of emotion. The music incased and manipulated in computer files should unleash a world which rests upon a stage. Your mind creating the preformers of the senerios sung. I hope all of you enjoy the raising of it's curtains...

[audio]Hardmoon - Radio Inactivity EP [sc00164] - Arjen Schumacher
this is the second release from hardmoon, which has been waiting to be released for quite some time now. we just had to put it up here, so it wouldn't strike root on our shelf. if you liked the previous release from this wizard of the spacemusic, you'll probably like this as well (and vice versa). the mood of this ep is more electronic than on the album that preceded it, and maybe a bit darker. the global style, however, is audibly similar, and indeed, audibly the work of a man who knows what he...

[audio]Henrique Iwao & Mário Del Nunzio - Dance Music (ca153) - Henrique Iwao & Mário Del Nunzio
The album contains pieces by the composers Mário Del Nunzio and Henrique Iwao, composed specifically for dance performances. Mário Del Nunzio’s words about the album: In the musical works I have so far developed for dance, it was clear that the music would have absolute autonomy in its conception (except for its legnth), and this technical and esthetical autonomy was expected by the directors I've worked with; but, at the same time, some dramaturgical-thematic content was to be shared, thus,...

[audio]Henry Brant at KPFA Berkeley, 1971 - Henry Brant
Henry Brant, born in 1913 in Montreal, surveys his music with Charles Amirkhanian. Brant has enlarged upon musical practices of Gabrielli and Ives to create spatial music. This music calls for the physical separation of different groups of musicians within the performance space who simultaneously perform wildly diverse music in and around the audience. Brant has experimented with unusual instruments some of which have been built specifically for his compositions...

[audio]Henry Cowell Musical Autobiography - Henry Cowell
Henry Cowell talks about his life and plays examples of his music from his entire career as a composer—a fascinating document. He mentions the diversity interests from his childhood, giving up violin at age 8, hearing Irish tunes hummed by his father, early American Ozark mountain tunes sung by his mother. Living in San Francisco, he was exposed to international influences, playing and humming along with his Japanese, Chinese & Tahitian playmates.

[audio]Hexahedra by Shinʾichi Matsushita
Dr. Shin ‘ichi Matsushita was one of the most prominent of the 20th Century Japanese composers. His output ranged from early works, somewhat influenced, structurally, by Berg, through compositions using taped sounds, choral works, and experimental works for percussion. This piece, “Hexahedra” is based on a graphed score of uncommon beauty. The physical appearance of the score, and its title, are suggestive of Dr...

This is something very different from Hoffman - very difficult to describe, it sorta brings a different perspective to Monotonik. Skittering but solid beats, a simplicity which belies its complexity, this is techno, but not as we know it, Jim. Like a softer version of the kind of hard techno favoured by Jeff Mills and The Advent, perhaps, it wanders and phases but keeps up the 4/4 beats, ticking over above all...

The music of Hollydrift integrates technology, the human voice, calculated soft electronics, found sound, and rhythm. In the four tracks of the Halting Gait EP, Hollydrift maintains this signature sound while making impressionistic ambient textures constructed into overt unapologetic emotional gothic tableaux framed by steady rhythms. Choral voices resemble medieval motets while recalling shimmering sheets of sound ala shoegaze...

A concert of Darius Milhaud’s music, given on April 26, 1971, on the occasion of the composer’s retirement from the Mills College faculty after 31 years. Jean-Louis LeRoux conducts the Mills Performing Group with soloists Madeleine Milhaud, Naomi Sparrow and Betty Woo. The first selection heard, “La muse ménagère”, was played as people were still entering the music hall and therefore there is a bit of crowd noise, and the actual performer is uncertain.
