[movies]F.E.A.R. (PC) - Extreme difficulty 1:15:55 - Maciej Maselewski - Maciej 'groobo' Maselewski
Speed run of F.E.A.R. on Extreme difficulty in 38 segments, completed on June 4 2007. Available in three versions: low/normal/high quality DivX. Author's comments: The SDA staff and those who wanted to see this run are the ones to thank. First of all, sorry for using 7000x4500 resolution, FSAA and everything else set on max/on. The graphics are so stunning that you won't be able to hold up with whatever happens in the run, thinking about what my PC specs are...

Speed run of F.E.A.R. on Low difficulty in 35 segments appended to one file, completed on August 12 2007. Available in three versions: low/normal/high quality DivX. Author's comments: Phew, finally! I never thought that the lowest difficulty available in a game can be this hard. Of course, completing the game on this difficulty level is child's play, but like always, the problem occurs when you're trying to finish it as fast as possible...

Speed run of Fable in 2 segments dont on January 31 2005. Two segments are appended into one file, and a failed segment at the start of the 2nd segment is also left in. Author's comments: This is my first speedrun and I am proud to present it. This run has two segments. Segment 1 is 45 minutes long and segment 2 is the rest of the movie. Single-segment speed run of Fable done on July 13 2005. Available in 3 versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60fps high quality. Author's comments: This is my first recorded run for SDA and I'm very proud to present it. My thanks goes to Radix, Nathan Jahnke, and the rest of SDA for creating such a hardcore speed running site. [movies]Fallout (PC) - Single-segment 0:11:17 - Devin Herron - Devin 'Mimir' Herron
Single-segment speed run of Fallout, done on December 21 2004. Timing does not include any loading time, but does include skipped cutscenes and dialogs. Author's comments: I based my run on WhiteChocobo666's speed guide from gameFAQs, but his guide was nearly impossible to use for a single segment run, so I played around with it and found one exploit that really makes this run possible. If you enter combat manually, use all but one AP to move, then end combat and immediately begin combat again, ...

Single-segment speed run of Fallout 2, done on April 21 2004. Timing does not include any loading time, but does include skipped cutscenes and dialogs. Author's comments: I'm pretty sure this is the first known recorded attempt at a speed run for Fallout 2, which kind of surprises me given the game's structure. Having played it for so long, I knew that the way the game was built would make a speed run very viable, and I think this video reflects that...

[movies]Faxanadu (NES) - 31:01 (US version, emulated run) - Hans Olsson (aka. Walker Boh)
I finally managed to get this done. Atlast! This is still a highly underestimated game. You play as the hero (of course) who returns to his town to find it almost deserted. It turns out to be the evil dwarfs who is behind this. So off he goes. This improved version is MUCH faster than my old. This is because of several things. First of all, I changed tactic when killing enemies. When you are about to hit something and standing on the ground the hero will stop and swing his sword...

Single-segment speed run of Faxanadu, done on December 11 2006. Abuses death to save time. Available in five versions: low/normal quality DivX, and normal/high/low quality H.264 MPEG-4. Author's comments: Faxanadu was one of my favorite games when I was younger. Author's comments: Thanks to Nate for transfering from VHS and Radix for the great site. This run was very sloppy in many places due to lack of planning since I didn't have much time to do the run. [movies]Final Fantasy (NES) - 1:13:00 (US version, emulated speedrun) - Frank Amoroso (aka. TheAxeMan)
This run completes the original Final Fantasy in 1:13:00, which is 17:48 faster than the current version by Mookish. That's longer than most movies on this site! Has any movie ever been obsoleted by as big of a margin? Anyway, my general strategy is completely different, and many new techniques are used. Despite being faster, this is still a pretty slow-paced run. However, I think it should be much more interesting as the battles are even more lopsided than before...

[movies]Final Fantasy (NES) - 1:30:48 (US version, emulated speedrun) - Zachary W. (aka. mookish)
Notes from author: This definitely was a fun game for me to run a time attack on. What I wanted to do was achieve the fastest time possible, and combine that with the lowest passable level. I think this movie is a good combination of both. Time to last command entered was 1:30:48, and time to "The End" was 1:35:53. I ended up finishing on level 11, which for the time taken, was the lowest level I could achieve...

Speed run of Final Fantasy 1 (PS1) in ~4:55. Author's comments:      Hello. This is my ~4:55 video playthrough of Final Fantasy 1 on the PS1. The version played is the Japanese version, mainly because it is the one I am used to (control-wise) and that this version does not have that "dancing cursor" problem (where the cursor seems to move on its own while the player is choosing an option, resulting in going to an undesired command) that the US version has in the game...

Author's comments: This run is quite similar to my last Final Fantasy 3 speed run. I felt compelled to do it over because the previous run was missing a 2-minute Tyrannosaur segment. Author's comments: First of all, thanks to Enhasa for outlining a speed run of this game on the SDA message board.
