About Us 



As the proposed 44th executive committee of Social Sciences Society, HKUSU, we believe that it is 
important for us to promote the general welfare of our members and to foster a sense of 
consciousness of the local and global communities. 

Apart from achieving the major aims and objectives, we also aim at serving our members with 
passion. With our dedication, we will try our best to promote the welfare of our members and 
enhance their sense of belonging towards the society. 

Besides, the proposed functions and activities for the coming year are designed to lead our members 
and students of HKU to care about the local and global communities. We wish that the social 
awareness of our students can be enhanced through the activities held. 

If we were successfully elected, we are determined to uphold the unique tradition of the Society and 
to serve our members with full devotion and passion.

to provide an opportunity for students to rethink about Hong Kong's future and directions

encourage their active attention and critical thinking towards the issues

procedures and systems with other countries and areas where democratic systems are enforced

Suggested content : to present the information through exhibition boards and leaflets

2. Forum I 

Aim(s): 

-y- To discuss on the political platform of the candidate(s) of Chief Executive, such as its pros and 

cons, its effectiveness, and the effects it will have to Hong Kong

Proposed content: invite representatives from different parties in the society, such as publicists and 

members of Legislative Council to express their opinion

3. Forum II 

Aim(s): 

-y- To discuss the difference in popularity of the Chief Executive before and during his 

appointment 
Proposed venue : Sun Yat Sen Place 

Suggested content : invite current affairs critics and joumalists to analyze on the situation, and make 
follow-up actions such as drafting suggestions on how to improve the situation

content of the majors and minors, Q&A section, alumni and senior students
