Last summer, the second author carried out field studies around Ta§koprii village of Kulp
(Diyarbakir Prov.), situated in the mountainous region. During night collecting using a light trap with
a lamp of Mercury Vapour 160W, two specimens of recently described species, Echthromyrmex
sehitlerolmez Kogak & Kemal were captured. Although the specimens were fresh, ants destroyed their
abdomens partly in the next day. Comparing the wing markings of the Kulp specimens with the
Holotype from Hakkari, some minor differences were noticed. However, it seems not so significant
for the time being.

For determining the distribution of the species precisely in South East Turkey, more materials
from new localities are needed.
