MONTHLY WEATHER REPORT OF UTTAR PRADESH FOR SEPTEMBER, 1954

Rainfall over the state during the month \va.s normal in plains and 13 per cent, in exceps over the hills j

Fahly widespread and locally heavy rain occurred on 1st and 2nd. Hardoi recording over eight inches u

two days.    Scattered showers occurred from the 3rd   to    13th. Monsoon again became active on the  Ut:j

and imder the influence of depressions   louiil to fairly widespread rain occurred till the 25th with a   digit1

lull on the 21st.    Thereafter scattered showers continued   till the 29th.    On the last day of the month,  ^

de-ep depression approaching the southern borders of K.ajasthan, again gave fairly widespread rain over Uttay

The total rainfall during the month WEVS in moderate defect in Meevut (exclusive of Dehra Dun), RohukhM
iind Gorakhpur divisions, in slight defect in Banaras and Faizahad divisions, in slight excess in Kumaon (v]t'
Dehia Bun), Agra, Allahabad and Lucknow divisions and in large excess in Jhansi division.

Seasonal rainfall art reckoned from" 1st June to 30th iSept.mber, 1954- was in slight excess in
(with Dehra Dun) and Lucknow divisions, noimil in Allahabad, Jhansi and Paizabad divisions, in ali
