MONTHLY WEATHER.REPORT OF UTTAR
y PRADEWH FOR OCTOBER, 1954
Rainfall over the State was 62 per cent above
normal in the plniut) and 400 per cent above normal
over the hills.
A deep depression centred over the west Uttar
Pradesh gave on the 1st and 2nd nearly general rain
ima- the State which was locally heavy in western
districts and gave rise to floods at places.
The rainfall continued at a few places on the 3rd
' Mid 4th. Thereafter, the monsoon withdrew and
almost dry weather prevailed during the rest of the
month except for 25th and 26th when it rained in
south-east Uttar Pradesh at a few places.
Chief amounts of rainfall recorded during the
month are :
6- 70"'at Mukteshwar on the 2nd.
4- 55* at AJigarh on the 1st.
4' 30* at Meerut on the 1st.
* 80* attain! Tal on the 1st.
-2- 72" at Dehra Dun on the 1st.
2- 70" at Najibabad on the 1st.
-2' 34* at Agra on the 1st.
2-40" and 2m 65* at- Mukteahwar on 1st and 3rd
4* io*-at Aleerut on the 2nd.
3' 60* at Najibabad on the 2nd.
3' 42* at Lakhiinpur-Kheri on the 2nd.
2- 09* at Bareilly on the 2nd.
Rainfall during the month \vas in very large excess
in Meerut, Agra and Rohilkhand divisions, in large*
excess in Lnckiiow Division, normal in Allahabad Divi-
sion, in moderate defect in Paizahad Division and in
large defect elsewhere.
Mean monthly maximum temperature where below
normal while the "minimum temperature were normal.
The humidities were also normal. The cloud amounts
were above normal.
