Under paragraph 3 of Government Resolution no.
2J49-B/IX— 40-B(l)-52, dated July 5, 1952, the Dis-
trict Board of Mirzapur was superseded for a period
of two years with effect from July 7, 1952. The period
was further extended up to -Tune 30, 1 955. The Gov-
ernor does not consider it desirable in puhlic interest
to reconstitute the Board at present, and accordingly
is pleased to direct under section 169 of the U- P.
District Boards Act, 1922 (Act X of 1922), read with
section 21 of the U. P. General Clauses Act, 1904
(U. P. Act 1 of 1904), that the period of supersession
of the said Board be further extended up to December
2. The Governor is further pleased to direct under
section 171(6) of the aforesaid Act, that the District
Magistrate of Mirzapur and Sri Ramesh Chandra
Jain, P.C.S., who have been appointed respectively
as the Administrator and Officer-in- Charge of the
superseded District Board, Mirzapur, under notifications
no. 2689-B/IX—40-B(9)-52, dated August 7, 1952, and
no. 2677-B/IX—£0-B(9)-52, dated September 1, 1954,
respectively, iahall each continue to exercise and per-
form the powers and duties of the Board.
ORDERED that the resolution be published in the
ORDERED also that copies of the resolution be for-
(1) The ronimissionei'j Bunaras-Gorakhpur
Division, Banaras, for information.
(2) The District Magistrate, Mirzapur. for in-
formation and necessary action.
(3)- The Officer-in-charge, District Board,
Mirzapur, for information and necessary action.
