Applications are invited for the undermentioned posts from
Indian citizens and pornons migrated from Pakistan with intention
of permanently settling in India or subjects of Nepal, Sikkim or Por-
tuguese or Former French possessions in India Upper age limit re-
laxable by 5 years for Scheduled Castes, Tribal and Aboriginal Comnm-
mtiea and up to 45 yeara for displaced persons from Pakistan and non-
liberated areas of -Tammu and Kashmir. No relaxation for others,
<ave m exceptional rases and will in no case be relaxed beyond three
jears. Particulars and application forms from Secretary, Union
Public Service Commission, Post Box no ISti, New Delhi Requests
for forma must specify name of posts and should be accompanied by
^elf-addressed unstamped envelope for each post at least of size 9"
4* indicating thereon name of poat fur which forms tire required.
Closing date for receipts of applications with treasury rereipt or
Crossed Indian Postal Orders for Ra.7-S (Re.1-14 for Scheduled
Castes and Tribes) 12th November, 1955 (26th November, 1955,
for applicants from abroad). CommiSHion may remit genuinely
indigent and bom fkde displaced persons1 fee. Separate application
with separate fee required for each post. Candidates abroad may
apply on plain paper if forms not available and deposit fee with
local Indian Embassy. If required candidates must appear for
personal interview.

1.    Assistant Research Officer, Grade II     Historical Division,
Ministry of External Affairs     Post permanent.    Pay : Rs 300—20—

I 500. Higher initial pay to specially qualified and experienced can-
l didate. Age : Below 30 years. Relaxable for Government servants,
i Qualifications : Essential . (i) At least 2nd class Master's or
i equivalent Honours Degree m modern History of recognised Um-
| varsity, (ii) Knowledge of current affairs, (in) Adequate knowledge
j of one or more foreign languages other than English. Qualifications
relaxable at Commission's discretion in case of candidates otherwise
! well-qualified.

2.    Assistant Director (Social Education) ; Delhi  State.   Post
1 temporary, but likely to continue     Pay - Rs.400—25—500—30—

800. Higher initial pay to specially qualified and experienced can-
1 didate. Age : Below 45 years. Relaxable for Government servants.

Qualifications : Essential: (i) Degree     of   recognised   University.

(u) About three  years' administrative   expenerr e m the field   of

organizing social and educational activities e.g. adult education cen-
f trea, dramatic performances, educational film service fairs (melas).

•  (in) Good working knowledge of Hindi say up to the matric or equi-
valent     standard.    Qualifications  relaxable at  Commission's  dis-

j cretion in case of candidates otherwise well-qualified.

i          3.    Director of Art on Research (non-Government) side of the

, Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Post temporary but likely
i to c ntinue. Pay : Rs.600—40—1,000—1,000—1,050—1,050—1,100
j 1,100—1,150, or in case of officers already in Government service, at
i option of selected officer, his grade pay plus deputation allowance
up to 20 per cent of grade pay. Higher initial pay to specially quali-
fied and experienced candidates. Age : Preferably below 45 years.
Qualifications : Essential : (i) About five years' experience as ar-
tist m Publicity/advertising agency or other organization of repute ;
(u) Experience of lettering in English and Hindi and designing
audio-visual presentations (samples of work to be furnished with
•application), (m) Diploma in Commercial art from recognised institu-
tion. Qualifications relaxable at Commission's discretion in case of
candidates otherwise well-qualified.

4.    Supervisor of Hindi   Teaching, Ministry of Home, Affairs.
Post temporary, but likely to continue.    Pay : Rs.350—25—500—
—30—560.    Higher initial pay to specially qualified and experienced
candidate.    Age : Between 35 and 45 years.    Relaxable for Govern-
ment servants.    Qualifications \ Essential : (i) At least    2nd    Class
Master's   Degree in Hindi of recognised University   or equivalent
Oriental qualification ; (u)   Degree/Diploma in Education-: (lii) Ex-

jperience of teaching Hindi through medium of English. Qualifica-

10.    One Civil Surgeon, Bhopnl State.    Post permanent.    Pre-
ference given to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates,

Higher initial pay to specially qualified and experienced candidate.

C. S., M. S. M. D. or M. R. C. P. (ii) About 3 years' experience of hos-

cine or surgery from recognised University, (ii) Post-spraduate
training in medicine or surgery, (iii) About 5 years' experience of
hospital administration and medico-legal work. Qualifications re-

11.    One Accounts Officer, Bhopal Electric Supply, Government
of Bhopal    Temporary but likely to be made permanent.    Pay i
Rs.250—250—25—400—E.B.—20—600.    Higher    initial    pay    to
specially qualified and experienced candidate      Age  : Below 40
years.    Qualifications   :- Essential:    (i)    Graduate,    preferably  in.
Commerce or Economics,    (ii) About 3 years' accounts experience

in responsible post in Government or quasi-Government organisation
with knowledge of both commercial and government accounting
systems. Qualifications relaxable at Commission's discretion in
case of candidates otherwise well-qualified.

12.    Three   Research   Officers,  Housing   Division,   Planning
Commission.    Posts temporary     but   likely to   continue.    Other
things being equal Scheduled Caste? and Scheduled Tribes candidates
