being., have overcome Emily's horror of going
among strangers and into a foreign world. The
Brussels school was decided upon - Aunt ad-
vanced the money for fees - and in February 1842,
escorted by their father, Charlotte and Emily
arrived at the Pensionnat Heger, Rue d'Isabelle.
