ourselves than there is at the present time. Their objective
is the same as ours—to obtain the collaboration of all nations,
not excluding the totalitarian States, in building up a lasting
peace for Europe. That seems to me to be a policy which
would answer my hon. Friends5 appeal, a policy which should
command the support of all who believe in the power of
human will to control human destiny. If we cannot here this
afternoon emulate the patriotic unanimity of the French
Chamber, this House can by a decisive majority show its
approval of the Government's determination to pursue it"
