Dear A. and T, dear A. and T, a monument indeed,
Around thy base with grateful hearts
behold thy students kneel,
We bless the power that gave thee birth
to help us in our need,
We'll ever sthve while here on earth all loyalty to yield.
Refrain
With joy, with joy, dear A. and T., thy students turn from thee
To spread thy trophies year by year from Dare to Cherokee.
II
Dear A. and T, dear A. and T, the signet thou shalt be
Set by our great old commonwealth,
proud boaster of the free;
She'd have the record of her worth
on granite not inscribed-
Nay, let the children of her birth proclaim it by their lives.
Dear A. andT., dear A. andT., henceforth our aim shall be,
By precepts wise and deeds more sure to bless
the State through thee;
The arts of industry to wield against an idle foe,
A harvest rich from hpened fields of what thy students sow.

Dear Aggie Family,
i
Sharonda R. Eggleton
Editor -n- Chief
This year's yearbook has truly been a labor of love. We have worked hard to produce
what we feel captures the essence of Aggie Pride. We understand and recognize the
rich, yet deep history, that A&T possesses. With the hard work and endless dedication
from the yearbook staff, we present to you the 2003-2004 Ayantee yearbook.
We would especially like to thank all those who contributed to the completion of this
yearbook. We hope that you, the Aggie family, enjoy this book and continue to flip
through its pages for years rediscovering pages the meaning of Aggie Pride.

What is the most valuable gift
A«&T has given to you?
The most valuable gift A&T has ^iven
me is learning the "think outside the
box" mindset. As a student at A&T I
have learned to excel in all that I do
even though it may include me veering
in an unkown direction. Although I am
a biology major, I am also a member of
many other organizations, which has
helped me to become very diverse. I
have faced many obstacles here atA& T.
however, wifh much determination,
\ perseverance, and Aggie Pride I 've
learned how to overcome the
unthinkable. As a proiul Alumnus ofthis
university, success is mv onlv option. I
thank you A&T for all you have given
me.

What is your most memorable
moment of A«&T?
Earlier this semester the university
hosted a memorial service for all the
fallen Aegies. The football team
organized a team gospel choir to par
tribute to their fallen Aggie. Herbert
Dixon. Along with the football team
many other organizations came out to
show their respect and reverence in
honor of all the fallen Aggies. This was
truly the most inspirational moment for
me here at A&T.

Was Ai&T all of what you
expected?
A&Twas more than I expected. This
school has grown from an institution
of higher education to a university'
that 7 rank highly among all other
colleges and universities in the
nation. I have found this is not just
a place to party, but a place to meet
life long friends, and most of all I
have been given the chance to
experience what Aggie Pride is first
hand. I was also able to become
involved in activities on campus,
because of my drive to experience
leadership.

What is the most valuable gift
A&T has given to you?
1 1 feel the opportunities and experiences
that have been afforded to me as a result
of my involvement in Student Leadership
atA& T. as well as the exposure into all
of the INTRARACIAL diversity we have
within our race has proved to be
valuable. It is evident that A&T is a
microcosm of the black community, and
\l am very proud of the rich historv and
I deep roots which eve implanted beneath
the ground on which we walk. Overall I
led my decision to matriculate through
\&T has aided me in my general
appreciation of where I came from, and
has helped me establish a clearer view
of who I am and which roads I want to
travel in the future.

Did A&T meet all of your
expectations?
Yes. A&T has filled all of mv
expectations and then some. In first
coming to A&T, I really didn 't know
what to expect. All I knew was that
their was something special about
this University. I can now sav that I
have learned' and benifited from all
that A&T has given nie. It' is filled
with such a rich and deep rooted
histoty. that inspires me to want to

What is the most valuable gift
A«&T has given you?
A&T has ^iven me many valuable

the importance of networking.
During college, you will get a chance
to meet many' different kinds of

"I had known DC since Freshman year -when we took MATLAB in
the fall. "DC " was one of the funniest guys I've known. He always
had a way of making some of the most difficult situations in our
course work easy. He was a good person and a good friend
and I miss not seening him in class.**

"Gary, you will be greatly missed. Sometimes
you never know the impact a person has
made on your life intil you realize that they are
not there to ^ve you a word of
encouragement or just a simple smile and hello
that brings brightness into your day. It was
never a day tiiat I did not run into Gary and he
always greeted me with a smile and a "Hey girl,
how you doing?" Sometimes there were days
that I ran into him and things %vere not going so
good, then he would ask me how^ things are and
just because he asked they seemed to already
get better. We would see each other at churdi
and occasionally spit "AGGIE PRIDE!" I knew
that people probably thought we were crazy
but we knew what it meant even if they didn't.
Gary, to you I would like to say thank you!
Thank you for your smiles on a rainy day,
thank you for your words to encoiu-age me that
the best is yet to €»me. You will always shine in
the eyes of God and in my heart. Your legacy
will never be forgotten. To the Family: Kathy,
Brice, Breanna, and the Bowens, I extend
heartfeh sympathy to you. Know that God still
sits on the throne and no matter ^vhat you may
go through, as my favorite singer said it best,
"THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, ITS THE
LORDS!" I love you with the love of Jesus
Christ and may heaven continue to smile upon
you and my God keep his loving arms wrapped
around you.
I Love You!"*

"Many thanks to your son and
many others who have given their
lives to protect our country. I do
not agree with the war, however I
do appreciate people like your
son protecting our country. May
God help you and yours to get
through the difficult days ahead.
Just know that '^Weeping May

"Words can never truly express how a person feels, but one thing that I can sincerely
say is that the football team will forever miss their brother. "Lord we ask you to
continue to watch over and bless the Dixon family to help ease their hearts and minds
during this time. Forgive us for our sins on today and yesterday Lord. Lord we ask
you to continue to open the eyes of each individual reading this today and allow them
to see that your work will forever be done as you see fit, Lord. Help them understand
it is YOU who gives us life and also YOU who can take it away. Lord we thank you
for your goodness and mercy you have given us and Lord we ask you to continue to
touch our minds and hearts so that one day we all can walk like you. Lord, if you do
these things we will be so careful to give your name to praise, we ask these things to
be blessed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the blessed Holy Ghost in Jesus

Terrance P. McGrone
1 can't believe this has
happened. I met Terrance
during Freshman
Orientation, and from the
very first day, I knew we
would be great friends until
jgraduation. Terrance was
one of the sweetest guys I
knew, and in his death, I
have truly realized even
more just how much he
meant to me, not only
through life, but now
even in death."

"I knew Sean when he attended Winston Salem State
University. At first glance you would think him to be a
shy person, but once you get to know him he is open and
so genuine. After he left WSSU, we lost contact for a couple
of months, but when w^c saw each other again we picked up
where we left off. Scan always had a smile on his face you
knew was frt>m his heart. We love you Sean ..." L

"Julia was on of my best friends. We grew up together and went to church together.
I loved this girl as if she was my own sister. I have many fond memories of her that
comfort me, and I know others do to. Julia was the most couragous person I knew. All of
us that went to church with her have found success in our chosen fields, but Julia would
never be satisfied with the ordinary. She lived an extraordinary life and I am proud to
have known her and called her a friend. My condolences go out to all of her family and
friends. We all must band together and have Julia's courage in our everyday lives. To
Julia, I will always love you and I know I have a guardian angel with me in whatever I do.
