Subject: Colonial ethnology
Subject: Colonial ethnology
A historic piece by the art teacher from JJ College Bombay and father of Rudyard Kipling. This has some interesting art works. The most cryptic piece is the dedication page with a leonine figure made of arabic characters and says dedicated to the other three.
Lockwood Kipling's art work includes Ex-Libris pieces for his children.
Not a book for facts, but more interesting to see the colonial eye for ethnology. Will be particularly interesting for Indians with an interest in past culture as seen, interpreted and documented in colonial times.
