We apprehend the mind will grow,

If exercised each day

And thus we rear a book so grand

Which never will decay.

The 1977 Bethanian has not been a problem-free
yearbook. There have been trials and tribulations,
but, nevertheless, it does exist.

The 1977 Bethanian has a lot of gaps between
its cover. There are scores of pictures that should
have been included, but are not — for a variety of
reasons.

The 1977 Bethanian does have a spirit and that
spirit is here — in spite of the fact that too many
sports teams, housing units, clubs, activities, faculty
members and seniors are not.

Apologies are extended for the missing material
and a promise will be kept that the 1978
Bethanian will materialize and will include all that
is expected — and more.

Homecoming 1976

Patricia Phelps: Homecoming Queen

•USfeE

President Tucker crowns the queen.

Homecoming was special this year.
Bethany had its annual football game,
soccer game and women's field hockey
game.

We also enjoyed the music of Roy
Buchanan Friday night, and Lester
Lanin and his Orchestra Saturday
night for the homecoming dance.

Patricia Phelps was chosen Queen
during halftime of the Bethany-Thiel
football game which Bethany won 19
to 7.

Vincent Bugliosi

Bugliosi addresses students in Benedum Commons.

Vincent Bugliosi, chief Prosecutor of Charles Manson
and co-author of the best selling novel, Helter Skelter:
The True Story of the Manson Murders, spoke on Nov.
16th. His lecture proved to be fascinating and informa-
tive.

At the end of his presentation, there was a question
and answer period. Bugliosi expounded on the bizarre
Manson "family" and their lifestyle.

Bugliosi signs autographs for students.

The Bisons had an overall 4-5 season this year under
head coach Don Ault.

One of the bright spots of the season was the amazing
turnout of freshmen.

Leading the team in scoring was sophomore Mark
Sniegocki, the Bison hooter and Bill Lisotto at halfback.

The defense was headed by seniors Kerry McCann and

Front row, 1-rt: Sue Mapletoft, Mary King, Angle Ryder, Sue Fash, Karen Welling, Lisa Pasqualone. 2nd row: Cindy Pederson
(manager), Linda Stokes, Cindy Chamblin, Alison E>vans, Jill Embersits, Linda Nannig, Wendy Cole, Bitsy Hamilton. 3rd row: Mrs.
Hanna, Amy Armstrong, Sue Hilton, Debbie Scheirer, Jody Densberger, Amy Day, Nancy Milestone, Liz Stevens, Ann Lee, Camball
Johnson.

The field hockey team looked impressive this year with
some real standouts.

The team is basically young, they work together well
as a team, and the future looks good.

Sue Fash about to pass.

Who's got the ball? Wendy, Alison, Sue or

Valerie Duff
about to serve.

Women's Tennis had a lot of strong points this season.

The girls have been working pretty hard and take the
game seriously. They have had good training, but lack a
lot of experience.

The team does look good for future and next year may
be a winning season.
