TESTIMONIAL.
Great obligations are due to Mr. Frank G. Harriman, of California, for valuable
information and data furnished, after great and careful research.
FIRST GENERATION.
LEONARD HARRIMAN.
Born in Rowley, England, in 1622 ; came to America in 1638, and settled in the
town of Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts. Died May 6, 1691. He had three
sons and three daughters.
SECOND GENERATION.
MATTHEW HARRIMAN.
Second son of Leonard Harriman. Born in Rowley, Mass., June 16, 1652. Re-
moved to Haverhill, Mass., and died there about 1726. Married twice, and had six-
teen children.
THIRD GENERATION.
JOHN HARRIMAN.
Second son of Matthew Harriman. Born in Haverhill, Mass., June 16, 1688,
and died in Plaistow, N. H., . Had seven children born in Haverhill, Mass.,
and two or more in Plaistow, N. H.
FOURTH GENERATION.
SAMUEL HARRIMAN.
Third son of John Harriman. Born in Haverhill, Mass., Nov. 10, 1717, and died
in Plaistow, N. H., about 1788-1789. He had six children.
FIFTH GENERATION.
BENJAMIN HARRIMAN.
Second son of Samuel Harriman. Born in Plaistow, N. H., in 1770, and died
Jan. 15, 1852. Married Hannah Perry in Plaistow, Nov. 29, 1798.
SIXTH GENERATION.
MOSES HARRTMAN.
Youngest son of Benjamin and Hannah (Perry) Harriman. Born in Haverhill,
Mass., July 20, 1807, died there Jan. 3, 1859, aged 51 years, 5 months, 13 days. He
married (1) Olive Thompson Emery, April 1, 1832; (2) Mary Leslie, Nov. 21, 1837.
He had a son, and a daughter Harriette Olive, horn May 24, 1834, by his first wife ;
she married, Nov. 7, 1883, George A. Grant, born in Watertown, Mass,, April 15,
1833. Four daughters---all died in infancy.
George A. Grant died Oct. 11, 1907. Harriette O. Grant died Aug. 8, 1908.
SEVENTH GENERATION .
JOHN EMERY HARRIMAN.
Son of Moses and Olive T. (Emery) Harriman. Born in Haverhill, Mass., Feb.
19, 1833. Married, Dec. 24, 1864, Sarah Jane Wheeler, of Annisquam (Gloucester),
Mass., daughter of Charles and Sally (Davis) Wheeler, born June 5, 1834. Four
sons — Frank A., Kendall F., John E., George W. R.
EIGHTH GENERATION.
FRANK ANDREW HARRIMAN.
Son of John E. and Sarah J. W. Harriman. Born in Haverhill, Mass., Sept. 24,
1865. Married Myrtle E. Wilcox, of Retta, Penn., Feb. 23, 1899. One child,
Frank Howard, born in Retta, Penn., Oct. 4, 1901.
EIGHTH GENERATION.
KENDALL FLINT HARRIMAN.
Son of John E. and Sarah J. W. Harriman. Born in Haverhill, Mass., Jan. 16,
1867. Married, June 4, 1903, Myra L, daughter of J. Rodney and Emily Gott, of
Boston, born Feb. 6, 1872.
EIGHTH GENERATION.
JOHN EMERY HARRIMAN, JR.
Son of John E. and Sarah J. W. Harriman. Born in Somerville, Mass., July 31,
1869. Married, April 22, 1-897, Julia L., daughter of John and Mary Horther, of
Boston, born July 3, 1868.

GEORGE WINSOR RICHARDSON HARRIMAN.
Son of John E. and Sarah J. W. Harriman. Born in Somerville, Mass., May 25,
1871. Married, Nov. 28, 1900, Mabel L., daughter of James L, and Sarah M. Locke,
of Maiden, Mass., born June 15, 1876. Children — Roger Locke Harriman, born Jan.
19, 1902, in Maiden, Mass. ; Charlotte, born June 19, 1905, in Maiden, Mass. *,
