THE CASTELLAN

St. Mary's College of Maryland

1970

In the dynamic world we live in, change comes rapidly. Yesterday's dreams have become to-
day's realities. Man has long dreamed of reaching the moon: In 1969, Man walked there.
Change has come to ST. MARY'S too. Some changes have been subtle, others more obvious.
There have been alterations of attitudes, ideals, goals. We, the members of the college com-
munity, are instrumental in causing change. Constant awareness of our responsibility is nec-
cessary: We should be neither too hasty nor too reticent in effecting change. The CASTELLAN
has accepted the responsibility for recording change in ST. MARY'S. Some of the events of the
year 1969-70 are preserved in this volume. Not all the events were recorded, for such a task
is impossible. Perhaps this year will be remembered with smiles, perhaps with tears . . . but
it will be remembered.
