1753 1913.
EXPLANATION.
Every Cemetery In tHeee collections is given a number,
which is a great aid in many respects, as a reference.
Every tomb-stone and separate name is also given a number,
thus enabling any one, at once, to see how many bodies are bu-
rled in each cemetery, as shown by the names and stones.
The oldest and most recent stones are listed at the end of
each large cemetery, so as to determine the dates between which
that particular cemetery was surely used.
An effort is made to retain all plots. Intact, and to list
all monuments, thereby preserving, as far as possible, every
fact of relationship. Hence the need of cross - references,
which are usually not numbered. The value of this is apparent.
An atteiupt is made to give, as NOTES, the maiden names of
wives and mothers. It must be understood that the names and
dates in all such NOTES, do not appear on the stoaes. A great
many more such NOTES could be added by the compiler.
A running title, on the top of each page, Is carried all
through this volume, thus obviating the necessity of continually
referring to the table of contents on page two, to ascertain In
what cemetery some particular stone or stones are located.
Bible records are added where they could be obtained.
Marriages from Church records are also added from the large
copied collection in the possession of William A, Eardeley,
Hence this cemetery record is quite large!;? edited.
The index of Persons Is now made by the first names.
An index of Places is' always added, in each volume.
A space Is left, especially, for filling in the middle
names where only the initial is icnown : the author has given
the full names where possible : all such additions will be
gladly noted by the compiler, for a future edition of this, if
he Is notified of all such possible additions.
The author will be glad to get other cemetery records, to
Include in this and his other numerous series, no natter where
the cemetery is located, nor how recent it has been used, nor to
wha t den omination or TOIN the CEMETBRY belongs. See the other
very numerous' type-written records by the compiler of this boolc.
