In Board of Aldermen, March 23, 1863.
Ordered, That the Joint Standing Committee on Finance be and
they hereby are instructed to confer with the several Joint Standing
Committees of the City Council, relative to the necessary sums of
money to be raised for the expenses of the City for the year ending the
30th of April, 1864:, and report thereon the Annual Appropriation
Bill, as soon as practicable.

The Joint Standing Committee on Finance, who were
instructed under an order originating in the Board of Al-
dermen, March 23d, to confer with the several Joint Stand-
ing Committees of the City Council, relative to the necessary
sums of money to be raised for the expenses of the City,
for the fiscal year ending April 30th, 1864, and report the
annual appropriation order as soon as practicable, have
attended to the duty assigned them, and submit the fol-

TIONS for the Financial Year of 1863-64.
It is hereby ordered by the City Council, That to de-
fray the EXPENDITURES of the City of Roxbury for the
Financial Year, -which will commence with the first day of
May, 1863, and end with the last day of April, 1864, the
following sums of money be, and the same are hereby respec-
tively appropriated, viz : —

And it is further Ordered, That no excess in any of the
respective appropriations aforesaid, shall be paid by the Treas-
urer, unless authorized by the City Council : Provided, how-
ever, that any sums of money which may be subscribed or
contributed by individuals, to promote the object of any of
the foregoing appropriations, and which form no part of the
estimated income of the City, shall be strictly applied ac-
cording to the intention of the contributors, and shall be
credited to said appropriation accordingly.

AN ORDER
Levying a TAX to defray the expenses of the City of Rox-
bury, for the Financial Year, which will commence with
the first day of May, 1863, and end with the last day of
April, 1864. .
Ordered, That the sum of TWO HUNDRED THOU-
SAND TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY-TWO DOL-
LARS, be raised by assessment on the Polls and Estates
of the Inhabitants of this City, according to law, to pay
the current expenses of the City of Roxbury, during the
Financial Year, which will commence with the first day of
May, 1863, and close with the last day of April, 1864.
Passed and sent up for concurrence.
