DEDICATION

DR. DONALD MEYER

k

We are proud to dedicate the 1986 Cornucopia to Dr. Donald
Meyer. Dr. Meyer first came to D.V.C. in 1947 after being in the
Navy for 4 years. During the first 15 years here he was the only
Dean and acted Second in Command under President James
Work. Besides his Administrative duties he taught Freshman Ori-
entation, Psychology, and History of Education. Dr. Meyer is very
proud to have been part of the beginning creation of D.V.C.

In 1965, Dr. Meyer left D.V.C. to attain other goals. First, he
went to Harrisburg to work for the New Commission of Higher
Education of PA. While there, he held the positions of Acting
Program Director and Director of Approval of New Colleges and
Programs. In 1968, Dr. Meyer became Director of Community
Services & Continuing Education, at the Commission for Higher
Education in Conneticut. He received the Top State Director of
the Country Award while in Conneticut. Later he moved to Wash-
ington to continue in that position. There he was primarily con-
cerned with the use of Federal funds to encourage Collegiate
Institutions to offer innovative programs and to cooperate with all
segments of society. During this time, Dr. Meyer traveled through
about ¥i the states in the country, while also teaching graduate
courses at the University of Peurto Rico on weekends.

After 15 years with the government, Dr. Meyer was asked to
return to D.V.C. to teach Psychology as a full professor. Through
his years here he has seen many changes and has helped many of
them to occur. He has seen it rise above temporary set-backs, and
seen it stay afloat through these many years. He is very proud to
be part of this institution. During his years here he has received
the Annual Student Gov't Faculty Award twice. This he feels is a
special award because it comes from the students.

Dr. Meyer has had many other interests to fill his time. He was a
Local & State Judge for Miss America, he enjoys painting, and has
attended Art School. He was even a Lumberjack once. After this
semester, Dr. Meyer will be retiring. He plans to move to New
Hampshire and build his dream house overlooking a lake. During
his retirement years Dr. Meyer plans on counseling, writing, and
organizing Faculty Sharing Programs for Educational Institu-
tions. Dr. Meyer has achieved many goals in his life. We, the
students would like to thank him for sharing his experiences with
us. Good Luck & Good Bye.

Which one is the animal?

Such dairy character

But Mom, I just took her for a walk!

I need a glass of milk!

Snort . . . Snort . . . Gobble . . . Slurp!

Do you think somebody could bring me a milkshake?

"She says I can take the pony home- ok?'

I knew I should have kept my bathing suit at school.

Well, I'm having a blast this A-Day!

Wonder if I could leave real fast and grab a pork roll?

I'd  like  to  answer  that  question,  but  my  tongue  seems  to  be  stuck  to  m;
bottom lip.

This hair cut would be $39.95
