ford,  Philadelphia,  Pennsyl- 
vania. 

2.  Mrs.  Anna  Foulkrod  is  mentioned 

in  the  records  of  the  above 
church. 

3.  Anna  Barbara  Foulkrod  was  born 

August  9,  1766,  and  died  July 
19,  1848.  Interred  in  the  Pres. 
churchyard,  Frankford. 

4.  Benjamin  H.   Foulkrod  was  born 

in  1826,  and  died  December  28, 
1908.  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery,   Frankford. 

5.  Catherine    Foulkrod   was   born   in 

1824,  and  died  September  17, 
1905.  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery. 

6.  Catherine    Fulkrod     was  married 

February  16,  1773,  in  the  First 
Baptist  Church,  Philadelphia,  to 
Godfrey  Henry. 

7.  Charles  C.  Foulkrod  was  born  in 

1811,  and  died  April  8,  1878.  In- 
terred in   Cedar   Hill  Cemetery. 

8.  Clara  Foulkrod  was  born  in  1857, 

and  died  April  17,  1861.  Interred 
in  Cedar  Hill  Cemetery. 

9.  Elizabeth  Foulkrod  died  April  23. 

1895.  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery. 
10.  Elizabeth  Foulckrod  married,  in 
the  German  Reformed  Church, 
Philadelphia,  February  1,  1776, 
Christian  Troutman.  In  the 
Pennsylvania    Archives,    Second

Series,  volume  2,  page  106,  un- 
der the  title  "Pennsylvania  Mar- 
riages," the  date  of  this  mar- 
riage is  given  as  January  30, 
1776. 

11.  Elizabeth   Folkrod  married,  Aug- 

ust 11,  1794,  Henry  Shock.  See 
Pennsylvania  Archives,  Second 
Series,  volume  9,  page  192. 

12.  Francis    Foulkrod     was    born    in 

1849,  and  died  August  14,  1353. 
Interred  in  Cedar  Hill  Ceme- 
tery. 

13.  Francis    Foulkrod     was   born    in 

1789,  and  died  February  14, 
1873..  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery. 

14.  Fannie     Foulkrod    was    born    in 

1846  (twin  of  Sallie),  and  died 
June  21,  1867.  Interred  in  Ced- 
ar Hill  Cemetery.  These  twins 
were  buried  in  one  grave.  They 
died  on  the  same  day. 

15.  Frederick   F.   Foulkrod  was  born 

in  1883,  and  died  February  12, 
1885.  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery. 

16.  George      F.    Foulkrod,    Sr.,     was 

born  October  15,  1726,  and  died 
December  18,  1811.  Interred  in 
the  Pres.  churchyard,  Frank- 
ford.  He  was  undoubtedly  the 
"George  Fuckerodt"  of  Hanover 
Township,  Philadelphia  County, 
who,  at  the  Supreme  Court, 
Philadelphia,  "being  a  foreigner, 
did  April  23,  1764,  subscribe" 
and  thereby  become  a  citizen. 
As  "George  Folkrode,  farmer" 
and  "George  Folkrod"  in  1774, 
1780     (Effective     Supply     Tax) 


and  in  1781  (Effective  Supply- 
Tax)  in  Oxford  Township, 
Philadelphia,  he  paid  as  fol- 
lows:— 

On  7  acres  of  land,  3  horses 
and  2  cattle— £10-17-4. 

On  property  valued  at  £4,180 

—  £97-3-10, 

On  property  valued    at    £640 

—  £8-19-4. 

17.  George    Folkrode,    in    1781,    paid 

an  Effective  Supply  Tax  of  £5- 
0-0. 

18.  George  Foulkrod  died  November 

10,  1867.  Int.  in  Pres.  church- 
yard. 

19.  George   L.   Foulkrod     was     born 

September  7,  1761,  and  died 
April  22,  1840.  Interred  in 
Pres.  churchyard.  Attended  a 
meeting  of  the  Washington 
Fire  Engine  Company  in  Frank- 
ford  January  15,  1793. 

20.  Grace  A.  Foulkrod.  Mentioned  in 

the  records  of  Pres.  Church. 

21.  Henry    Foulkrod.      Mentioned    in 

Pres.  Church  records. 

22.  Henry    Foulkrod   was   born   June 

27,  1829,  and  died  April  29,  1857. 
Interred  in  the  Pres.  church- 
yard. 

23.  Henry  Foulkrod  was  born  in  1797 

and  died  May  15,  1865.  Inter- 
red in  Cedar  Hill  Cemetery. 

24.  Jacob   Adam    Foulkrod  was   born 

August   4,    1806,   and    died   June 

28,  1848.  Interred  in  the  Pres. 
churchyard 

25.  Jacob    Foulkrod   was   born   April 

20,  1760,  and  died  September  29, 
1852.    He  married,  first,  Esther, 


daughter  of  Jacob  Neff,  who 
was  born  January  20,  1766,  and 
died  October  8,  1811.  He  mar- 
ried, second,  Mary  i — ,  who  was 
born  July  15,  1768,  and  died  Oc- 
tober 21,  1861.  He  was  wound- 
ed at  the  battle  of  Germantown 
in  the  Revolution  and  was 
granted  a  pension  November 
23,  1833.  His  age  was  then  giv- 
en as  74  years.  He  occupied  a 
carriage  in  the  Lafayette  pa- 
rade. As  "Jacob  Folkrode,  far- 
mer," he  paid  an  Effective  Sup- 
ply Tax  in  1781  on  a  property 
valuation  of  £760  the  sum  of 
£10-13-0.  Also,  in  the  same 
year,  he,  or  another  Jacob  Folk- 
rode,  paid  on  a  valuation  of 
£768,  same  tax,  the  sum  of  £5- 
5-4. 

In  1774  he  paid  a  tax  on  100 
acres  of  land,  4  horses,  2  cattle 
and  1  servant,  £14-8-8.  In  1783 
he  paid  a  Federal  Tax  on  103 
acres  and  3  horses.  At  another 
time  on  a  valuation  of  £4,560, 
the  amount  of  £106-0-6.  Again, 
on  103  acres,  4  horses  and  4 
cattle,  the  sum  of  £17-4-8. 

26.  Jacob  B.  Foulkrod  had  a  warrant 

for  land  in  Lycoming  County, 
Pennsylvania,  February  23,  1782, 
23  acres  and  44  perches. 

27.  Jacob       Fuckerodt,      of      Oxford 

Township,  father  of  Jacob 
Foulkrod,  No.  25,  at  the  Su- 
preme Court,  Philadelphia,  "be- 
ing a  foreigner,  did  March  11, 
1764,  subscribe"  and  become  a 
citizen.    It  is  possible,  and  prob-

able  that  some  of  the  tax  rec- 
ords attributed  to  Jacob,  No.  25, 
really  relate  to  this  Jacob. 

28.  Jane    A.    Foulkrod    was    born    in 

1S19,  and  died  January  17,  1S97. 
Interred  in  Cedar  Hill  Ceme- 
tery. 

29.  Jane  L.  Foulkrod.     Mentioned  in 

Pres.  Church  records. 

30.  John   Foulkrod,  interred  in  Cedar 

Hill  Cemetery,  had  a  daughter 
Jane,  who  married  Lewis  Un- 
ruh,  eldest  son  of  George  Un- 
ruh  and  Maria  Castor,  Maria 
was  born  October  1,  1799,  and 
died  July  16,  1878.  See  "The 
Castor  Family,"  1910,  by  George 
Castor  Martin. 

31.  John   Foulkrod  was  born  in  1792 

and  died  July  11,  1862.  He  mar- 
ried Mahala ,  who  was  born 

in  1793,  and  died  November  1, 
1859. 

32.  Joseph    Foulkrod     was    born      in 

1861,  and  died  February  1,  1864. 
Int.  in  Cedar  Hill  Cemetery. 

33.  Levi  Foulkrod,  born  December  8, 

1816,  died  Jan.  21,  1854.  Inter- 
red in  Cedar  Hill  Cemetery.  He 
married  Jane  Barnhurst,  who 
was  born  February  11,  1820,  and 
died  June  16,  1899. 

34.  Louisa    Foulkrod    was      born     in 

1800  and  died  December  6,  1863. 
Interred  in  Cedar  Hill  Ceme- 
tery. 

35.  Mame  Foulkrod  was  born  in  1870 

and  died  December  27,  1897.  In- 
terred in   Cedar   Hill   Cemetery. 
38.     Mary  Foulkrod  was  born  in  1815 
or  1819,  and  died  May  1,  1864.

August  97th  is  evidently  Aug- 
ust 17th  or  27th,  but  neither  of 
the    two    dates    agree    with   the 
age    given.      Born    October    16, 
1717,  died  August  17  or  27,  1785. 
In    the    tax  lists    he    is    called 
variously  —  "Philip     Folkrod," 
"Philip    Folkrode"    and    "Philip 
Folkrode,  farmer."

In  1769  he  was  taxed  on  46 
acres,  3  horses  and  5  cattle.  He 
then  paid  a  tax  of  £8-9-4.  In 
1781,  he  was  taxed  on  a  valua- 
tion of  £290  and  paid  £4-1-4. 
At  another  time  on  a  valuation 
of  £280  and  paid  £1-18-2.  Also, 
in  1774,  1780  (Effective  Supply 
Tax),  and  in  1783  (Federal  Tax) 
he  paid  on  valuations  as  fol- 
lows— 

40  acres,  3  horses,  4  cattle — 
£8-2-8.  Valuation  of  £2,430 — 
£56-10-0.  46  acres,  4  horses,  2 
cattle. 

41.  Philip   Foulkrod,  born   1790.   Died 

April  24,  1856.  Interred  in  Ce- 
dar Hill   Cemetery. 

42.  Sarah  A.   Foulkrod,   died  June  2, 

1864.  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery. 

43.  Sallie   Foulkrod    (a  twin  of  Fan- 

nie, who  died  same  day  as  Sal- 
lie)  was  born  in  1846  and  died 
June  21,  1867.  Interred  in  Ce- 
dar Hill  Cemetery. 

45.  Sarah    C.    Foulkrod,      born    1826. 

Died  May  29,  1891.  Interred  in 
Cedar  Hill  Cemetery. 

46.  Thomas   B.   Foulkrod,     born   No- 

vember 9,  1851.  Died  December 
19,  1909.  Interred  in  Cedar  Hill 
Cemetery. 

47.  Honorable    William     W.     Foulk- 

rod was  born  in  1846.  He  was 
President  of  the  Frank- 
ford  Historical  Society.  He 
died  while  a  member  of  Con- 
gress, November  14,  1910.  In- 
terred in  Cedar  Hill  Cemetery.
