Subject: Conflicting Information on Mary Davenport
Subject: Conflicting Information on Mary Davenport
The author of this publication gave conflicting information on the wife of Joseph Adams (1688 to 1748).
On Page 312, he stated that Joseph married Mary Davenport who probably died on 23 FEB 1737. On Page 313, the author states that Joseph wrote his Last Will & Testament in 1744. In this document, Joseph named his wife, Mary, and their seven children.
I could find no marriage record for Joseph and Mary that would verify her maiden name.
Mary Davenport (1705 to 1737) married another man named Joseph Adams (1694 to 1753).
Page 316 lists the children born to Joseph Adams (1668 to 1748). His son was also named Joseph and was born in 1707.
That would mean Mary Davenport (1705 to 1737) could not possibly have been his mother.
