Worcester, Mass., August 27///, 1880.

The foregoing brief Genealogical History of one
branch of the "Dodge Family' has been prepared
after much labor and research, and is submitted with
the hope that it will stimulate the various men/_:r£
of the general family in collecting all facts and in-
formation within their knowledge or reach to be
transmitted to the undersigned, who will see that the

ne is duly forwarded to the Publishing Committee
appointed at the meeting of the "Dodge Family," in
Salem, Massachusetts, July 10th, 1879; and which
Committee, as I am informed, are engaged in pre-
paring a full and complete history of the "Dodge
Family." In conclusion, I will suggest that all
members of the family collect and compile in suita-
ble form for preservation, not only the names, dates
of birth, marriages and deaths, but full particulars as
to professions, avocations, ccc, so that in the future
such facts and incidents can be published, and thus
preserved for the perusal and instruction of the
succeeding generations of the family to which we
belong.

Respectfully submitted.
