WELCOME TO THE 1988 GOLDEN LEGEND!

Much Thought And Effort Went In To The Preparation Of This
Yearbook. We Determined Early On The Importance Of Communi-
cating The Many Traditions And Expressions Of The School, Stu-
dents, Faculty And Staff. From The First Day Of Classes Through The
Final Graduation Ceremonies — Our Education, Our Moments Of
Relaxation And Our Times Of Celebration Are Each A Part Of A
Greater Whole. Every Precious Memory, Every Lesson Learned ... It
All Adds Up . . .

DETERMINATION

Goals are set by ourselves and others. It is through our determination to
achieve these goals that strength of character is revealed.

Let's get it rightl

+ PMPARAIICN

We prepare for many things — classes, meetings, fun and games.
All of these, each in their own way, pave the way for a happy
successful life.

Hard work + care = good food.

Sooo much to do, too little time!

Sister Terese shows an inspiring poster during a Campus Ministry Retreat.

In speech, with eyes and with the movement of the hands and body, we are able to
communicate our thoughts, their meaning, and subtleties.

Dr. Kane emphasizes a discussion point.

Lora Gorski, Bridget Murray and Susan Cabral keep in touch with
each other.

class.

Verse, song and art. These are only a few of the ways in which we
express our feelings, emotions and desires to loved ones and
friends.

Aw, what's up doc?

Cafeteria provides a Thanksgiving treat.

Dr. Ernie Williams continues tradition of the Humanities Festival.

Traditions are not just ornaments; they are the expression of society's character.

Gathering together once again to catch a glimpse of the annual Homecoming soccer game.

Nancy Devery and members of Kappa Alpha Sigma review the 1987 yearbook.

Alpha Xi Omega add final touches to their homecoming float.

Queen Lisa Zaccagnin and King Rusty Mur-
daugh add a whimsical twist to tradition!

Thanksgiving dinner was a huge success for all the turkey is almost gone.

+ RELAXATION

Those who enjoy good company, good conversation, good books, lazy sun-drenched
afternoons — who are they? They are the happiest people in the world.

"Crashing" after a hard day of economics, statis
tics, accounting???

A moment to reflect and enjoy the beauty of a quiet sunset.

TO MARCH 21

Pisces is the sign of faith.
The key words for you are
"I believe" that the universe
will always take care of you
and that all things are
meant to be. A new moon
promises increased social
activity. You may even get
involved with group activi-
ties or be asked to assume
a leadership role with an or-
ganization. You'll discover
a business connection with
some new friends you'll

moon encourages outdoor
adventures.

about things in your life.
Your key words are "I De-

on a goal overcoming all
obstacles will bring you re-

QUOTES &

Four years of Saint Leo is finally over. I don't think I could have ever
made it without the number 1 fraternity on campus, Sigma Beta.
Thanks to all the brothers of Sigma Beta. I will bring home a great deal
of memories and achievements. Special thanks to Michele, you made
me a better person, and I'm very appreciative. I learned a great deal
while being with you. Here's to the future. I love you. Thanks Mom and
Dad. You gave me the chance and believe it or not, I succeeded. I
Love You Both! — Brett Paul

Rob Cooper

Do you take Visa? Can I buy a vowel please? — Elizabeth Hill

I would like to thank the faculty and students for their time and
patience. — Ellen Judson

Special thanks to Mr. Bogosta, Ms. Caye, Fr. Maguire and Dr. Travis
for their continued advice and support. — Sarah Brown

Definitely Unforgetable Kappa Theta #1 — Jonathan Watts

Mom and Dad — Thank you for everything! — Zenith Taylor

We must offer our hand if it's to touch another's heart. — Darice
Rickes

Take Care Psi Theta girls! You're the greatest! — Cathy Tierney

Thank God! — Patrick Malone

NOTES

Thanks Mom and Dad for sticking with me for all of these years — I
Love You Both! To my Grandparents — Thank you for all of your love
and support! Christina, you'll always be #1 in my heart — I'll love you
always. St. Leo Baseball all the way. To the rest of my family, espe-
cially Bobby, Kenny, and Mike — I DID IT! — Larry Jasper

"It is not how much you are taught that counts, It's how much you
learn." — Brian Gonsalves

May all Saint Leo college students come to realize that their 4 years
here were truly great as mine were. — Cyndee Thomas

You're a nobody until somebody loves you." — Diana Kolkana

Good luck with all of your future endeavors. — Michele Mott

To all my close friends, you know who you are. Love ya! — Art
Petracco

I learned of St. Leo's from a remarkable man while I was in high
school. He spoke so highly of St. Leo's that it actually sounded "too
good to be true." But, I've learned that St. Leo's isn't "too good to be
true," it's real. It's a place where what people dream of can and does
come true. It's here that I've grown in so many ways and it's here that
I had so many wonderful opportunities come my way along with the
chance to meet many memorable individuals along the way. And now
that I've had the chance to be a part of Saint Leo's, I just want to say
"Saint Leo's is a special place, and I'm real glad I had the chance to
experience some memorable St. Leo years, that will stay with me
throughout the years. I finally did it Mom and Dad! — Mary Letcher

Haven't I Seen
You Before?

"Don't I know you from some-
where?" This is a line commonly
used by everyone. Yet in this
case, the line turned out to be
accurate. Bernadette Parker and
Jerry Petrizi are both freshman
at Saint Leo and attended kin-
dergarten together in Stanford,
Connecticut. Although they
were friends, Berandette and
Jerry haven't kept in touch until
they coincidentally met here at
Saint Leo College.

She likes living in Henderson
which is conveniently near

wouldn't enjoy it as much if she
wasn't involved in campus ac-

many organizations on campus
such as Secretary of Campus
Ministry, Treasurer of R.H.A.,

My Dad
Is Great

How does a person feel about
success? Well, sophomore Ce-
cile Jennings, a transfer from
Purdue University answers this
question with a smile. Her fa-
ther, Bill Jennings, just finished
a role in an upcoming major mo-
tion film called "Eight Men Out".
He plays the role of a coura-
geous umpire and co-stars with
famous actors as Charlie Sheen,
John Mahoney, and A.J.
Sweeney. Not only is Cecile ex-
cited for the release of the film,
but she is very proud of her fa-
ther's great accomplishment. I

The Man Of
Many Hats

In this day and age, complete
individuality is very difficult to
come by. Not that someone can
not be their own person, but it is
very difficult to do something
that someone else has not al-
ready done. We at the yearbook
staff would like to give three
cheers to Terrence Davis, or
more affectionately known as
"Flounder", by the student body
at Saint Leo. Flounder is a man
of many talents or should we say
a man of many hats. He has the
right hat for every occasion.

As a sophomore, Angres Thorpe
plays starting guard on our Var-

majoring in Business Manage-
ment and says he came to Saint
Leo for the warm weather and
benefits of attending a small
college. One can clearly see that
he is an asset to the team and
will continue playing with the
winning spirit. He has been
playing basketball for 9 years
and was named all conference

IT ALL ADDS UP!

In determining the most
important expressions of
college life to include in
this yearbook we came to
the following conclusion:

Just as the months add up
to a year, the four years at
Saint Leo College add up
to an education in life.
Each class, each grade, ev-
ery friendship, experience
and memory in those four
years add up to an inde-
scribably real sense of
belonging.

For it is all this and every
other sparkling moment of
life's experience at Saint
Leo College that makes it
worthwhile to you!
