Subject: Progress by leaps, bounds and digs
Many know that Professor Rawlinson was one of the founders of Modern Archeology. Well versed in classic languages, Rawlinson also mastered other languages from the Mid & Near-east.
His work is among those which confirms the accuracy, of the Old Testament. If a book confirm perhaps only linguistic accuracy, or only forensics, or only Archeologically, any one of those would be a serious accomplishment, in the investigation of the search for the credibility of religious texts and manuscripts.
But Rawlinson describes much to show the reasons why and how the books of the Old Testament continue to amaze and surprise, as Archeology continues to validate the internal contents of the Bible, regarded as sacred by many.
Sometimes, Oxford training will do no harm. This would be one of those cases.
