Introduction
When a firm engaged in building Bicycles, for 33 years, can withstand the forces of
competition and still retain its leadership, then it is safe to assume that the product is
worthy, that it has kept abreast of the times, and that it has won public approval. That
in short, is the reason for the progress, longevity and favorable reputation enjoyed by
Hyslop Brothers, Limited.
The Dominion-wide popularity of Hyslop Bicycles is due mainly to their exceptional
quality and dependability. The models illustrated on the following pages, represent the
last word in Bicycle manufacture. Only the very latest equipment, coupled with high
grade material and expert workmanship enter into the construction of all Hyslop Bicycles,
as will be noted by referring to specifications. These features in addition to their super
ior design are responsible for the strength, handsome appearance, and remarkably easy
riding qualities, which have given leadership to Hyslop Bicycles during these 33 years."
The accessories, tires and supplies listed in this catalogue have been selected with a
view of supplying the trade with a complete line of such articles as are required by Bicycle
Riders. The entire assortment is a quality line and will prove invaluable in creating
bigger sales for dealers.
GUARANTEE
The liberal policy regarding the guarantee on Hyslop Bicycles which has prevailed
during the past thirty-three years will be continued.
Material proving defective will be replaced, but no claim for labor or damage will be
allowed. All defective parts are to be returned for examination, transportation charges
prepaid, but no claim for replacements will be allowed if caused from accident, abuse or
neglect.
Dunlop Tires are also guaranteed by us against defective material and workmanship
for periods as established by the makers. See pages 82 to 84. Should any defect occur in
a Dunlop cover or tube, return it to us, prepaid, with full particulars as to the nature of the
complaint, length of service, etc., in order to help us arrive at a prompt and satisfactory
adjustment. The guarantee does not cover punctures, or tubes damaged by being improp
erly fitted in the covers.
All parts or tires on which a claim is made rnvst be forwarded to us prepaid by the
dealer and not by the rider, together with the serial number of the Bicycle.
Goodyear Tires are guaranteed by The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. of Canada,
Limited,. and should be returned to their nearest branch for adjustment.
TERMS
Terms 30 days net. All prices are based on delivery f.o.b. warehouse Toronto, On
tario. Firms with whom we have no account, if not rated in the Commercial Agencies,
should furnish names of at least three parties from whom they are buying goods on
credit as references. Delays necessitated by making enquiries regarding the responsibil
ity may be avoided by instructing us to ship C.O.D., by express or freight with Bill of Lad
ing attached to Sight Draft. Such orders should be accompanied by remittance of not less
than 25% of purchase price.
All prices subject to change with or without notice.
PARCEL POST
Where instructions are given to ship by parcel post, an extra charge of 5c per package
be made for goods having a value of less than $1.00, and lOc per package for articles
valued at $1 .00 and over. These extra charges are in addition to the regular rate of post
age and are made to cover insurance of goods against loss in transit.

BACK ORDERS
For thirtv-three years Hyslop Bicycles have been made in Toronto and shipped to all
points of the Dominion. Our present volume of business can largely be attril
immediate consideration given to all orders.
Should an occasion arise where an article might be temporarily out of
causes bevond our control, the shipment itself will not be delayed as the other goods o
order will" go forward at once, and we will notify you of the items back ordered, givm
approximate shipping date, and unless notified to the contrary by you goods will gc
ward on that date. We do not pay transportation charges on back orders.
HOW SHALL WE SHIP?
\lwavs state on your order how goods are to be shipped, whether by freight, express
or parcel post. Unless complete shipping instructions accompany each order
which, in our judgment, is the most economical route and method.
RESPONSIBILITY AND CLAIMS
\11 orders are carefully packed by experienced men and our responsibility ceases when
o-oods have been delivered to the Transportation Company and a clean receipt or bill-of-
fading issued to us showing acceptance of the shipment in good order All claims for
damaged or broken shipments should be entered with express or freight agent at destina
tion. We are, however., always ready to render customers every possible assistance in <
tablishing such claims. . -

RETURNED GOODS
When orders have been CORRECTLY FILLED we cannot allow the return of goods
unless our consent has been obtained. If permission is granted, and goods are returned,
prepaid, within thirty (30) days from the date of shipment in the same condition as wh
originally shipped by us, they will be credited at price charged less ten per cent (1
vice and re-handling charge.
HOW TO RETURN GOODS
When articles are returned to us, do not enclose instructions with the goods. Write
a letter and mail it separately, giving full information, date of purchase, shipping order,
number etc., as no package is accepted by our Receiving Department until advice
ceived bv mail Be sure to mark your name and address plainly on the package so we
will know who it is from and thus avoid delays and unnecessary correspondence.

Mechanical Features of Hyslop Bicycles
As a "chain is no stronger than its weakest link," the strength of a bicycle can only
be determined after the component parts are assembled in one unit.
There are no weak points in Hyslop Bicycles. For over 33 years they have been
noted for their durability, handsome appearance and remarkably "easy riding qualities.
The illustrations shown below will give a good idea as to the design and great "strength of
some of the vital parts entering into the manufacture of Hyslop Bicycles, and the same
painstaking attention to detail and accuracy is extended throughout "the construction of
the entire machine.
Hyslop Frame Reinforcements in
Special Hyslop Cups and Cones
Sections
The cups and cones used in the construc-
ion of Hyslop Bicycles are specially heat-
reated. They are case hardened only on
uch surfaces as receive the direct wear, to a
ufficient depth to hold the load. (See illus-
ration.) This gives the proper wearing sur-
ace for the balls, but tends to remove all
>rittleness from the other parts.
This cut shows the great strength of the
improved reinforced joint construction of the
Hyslop frame. The dip-brazing method
makes for perfect amalgamation throughout
the joint and entire length of the reinforce
ment. Every part carefully tested before be
ing
assembled.
Hyslop Crank Hanger
The design and construction of the Hyslop Hanger is correct. The cranks are of
i one-piece, drop-forged, diamond-faced type, the sprocket is extra strong, the ball bear-
surtace is large, ball retainers are used, insuring perfect adjustment The Hvslop
strong, durable and perfect running. This Hanger is regular equipment on
all Hyslop Bicycles.

the rider to keep control of his bicycle down

as to make the hub run as freely as an ordinary fixed

Surplus Solid Rubber Pedal
The new Surplus pedal will be used as standard
equipment on all Bicycles during 1922 excepting the
juvenile Models. The constructional design of this
pedal is correct ; the main barrel is turned from one
piece ; the axle is correctly made and hardened. The
adjusting cone is constructed from the finest steel ob
tainable and is much larger than the ordinary cone,
and in addition is fitted with special retainers, and
3/16 inch steel balls.
The Hyslop Trade Mark
The Hyslop Trade Mark as illustrated, will be found on the frame seat
post tube of every Hyslop Bicycle. It is the hall-mark of quality in material
and workmanship; it denotes exacting care in construction and assembly,
which is the reason for the strength and easy running qualities which charac
terize every Hyslop Bicycle.
This Trade Mark is also a protection for dealers and riders against infer
ior makes and serves as a guarantee against any defects in material and labor.
No Hyslop Bicycle is genuine unless it bears this Trade Mark.

It s hard and risky to remove a rusty
coaster brake sprocket without Stevens
Coaster Clutch Tool. With this tool., the job
is easy.
The tool has 3 bushings, one for the worm
of each make of brake. The worm screws
into the bushing and is held loosely, by the
bolt running through like an axle. After the
nut is screwed on the bolt, the head of the
bolt is fastened in a vise. Then the sprocket
can be taken off easily with a wrench or other
tool, without danger of damaging worm.

In ordering Stevens Repair Hanger, be sure
to get cup and cone sizes right. Measure the in
side diameter of the bicycle bracket and then get
the same size cups, ordering by our number from

For Stevens Repair Hanger the cups are
arranged in 5 groups, each group having the
aame inside diameter. So all cups in one group
are fitted by the same size pair of cones. Since
there are 6 groups of cups, only 5 sizes of cones
are necessary.
