Heinan Kenney and Nathan Kenney, 
brothers, went to Harrington, with the first 
settlers, from Chatham or Harwich, Massa- 
chusetts, about 1761. Probably they were 
sons of Nathan and Mercy (Smith) Kenney, 
of Chatham. They had two sisters, Sarah 
Kenney, who married March 10, 1759, Thomas 
Crowell, and Miriam Kenney, who married 
1st, Thomas Hamilton and 21, Edmund 
Doane 2d, son of Edmund 1st. 

At the age of 19 Nathan enlisted from 
Harwich in Capt. Thomas West's Company 
on an expedition against the French in Nova 
Scotia. From Barrington he removed his 
i mily to Little River, Argyle township, 
where in March, 1787, Nathan Kinney, 
Daniel Nickerson, Israel Doane, John Heater 
and Joshua Tiefry purchased 1250 acres of 
Crown lands, " situated on the eastern side 
of Little River." 

September ye 24, 1728 29 then Nathan 
Kinie and Marcy Smith, both of Chatham, 
was maried by Mr. Lord, minister at Chat-

Feb. 4, 1751, widow Thankful Kenney was 
appointed administratix on estate of Nathan 
Kenney, of Harwich. 

John Kenny and Elizabath Nickr.-on 
both of Chatham, was married Each to ye 
other Novber ye 16th 1752 by the Reverand 
mr. Stephn Emery as apears by scartifycat 
from the said mr. Stephn Emery to me Paul

Elizabeth Kenney was appointed admin- 
istratix on estate of John Kinney, of Chat- 
ham. Dec. 16, 1757, and Nehemiah Nickerson, 
of ChathauKj^as appointed guardian of the 
minor son, £ohn Kenney, Sep . 17, 1761.

1. Heman Kenney 1st, of Barrington, died 
Feb. 4, 1775, aged 43 years. He was a 
Justice of the Peace and lived at Bar- 
rington Head. He married at Chxtham, 
Mas^., Aug. 25, 1752, Mercy Nickerson, 
born May 7, 1732, daughter of William 
and Sarah Nickerson. She survived him 
and married, as second wife, Joshua 
At wood, a native of Cape Cod and one of 
the first settlers of Barrington.

Liverpool, who died at Barrington Sept. 
5, 1815. Married 2d, Mary Duncan, 
widow of David Duncan, of Hillsdale, 
Columbia Co., N. Y., and Barrington, 
an 1 daughter of Capt. Edward-Perry, of 
Port LaTour. Isaac Kenney lived at 
North East Point, Cape Sable Island, 
where he was a merchant and vessel 
owner.

John Lewis, father of Solomon who mar- 
ried Susannah Kenney, was born at East- 
ham, Mass., Feb. 17, 1765, son of Solomon 
and Elizabeth (Myrick) Lewis. When a 
young man he went to Barrington, where, 
on Feb. 20, 1786, he married Rebecca Crowell, 
born Feb. 8, 1767, daughter Thomas and 



Sarah (Kenney) Crowell. They removed to 
Belfast, Maine, where he died Feb. 16, 1835, 
and his widow, Rebecca, May 31, 1852.
