Alma Mater

Hail to thee, our Alma Mater!
Bold thy banner waving o'er us!
Let each loyal son and daughter
Proudly stand and raise the chorus:
From Old Scotia's lofty lands
To Carolina's gentle plain
Now thy noble name St. Andrews,
Ever glorious shall remain!

Hail, all hail to thee, St. Andrews!
May thy courage be unbending
Guided by His mighty hand, whose
Loving mercy knoivs no ending.
With thy Salt ire raised before us
Cross of white and field of blue
We proclaim thy faith victorious
And thy vision ever true!

Convocation 1990

The first event that the Freshpeople attend after
moving is convocation. This is a time when students
and faculty welcome the new class formally.

,\-#^ ^

!

Dean Greer welcomes the Freshpeople to their new home.

Sean Nolan loses interest in the speaker and seems more
concerned about having: his picture taken.

Roy Parker .Jr. From the Fuijetti-ville Observer Tinirit was the Ke>^
Note speaker.

84

Dr. Alexander takes a moment to ponder the words of wisdom.

Lane Moore. Shawn Hunter, and Jon HoUoway reflect back to their Freshmen days.

Susie Henry and Rojrer Rood think about what future St. Andrews
life might hold for them.

85

It's Toga Time!!!

Toga Tom plastered (on the wall, that is.)

oo

John Cohen has a joyous time at Toga.

Andrea Francis and Julie Cox know how to do the Luau dance.

86

Toga and Luau
together again!

The tradition lives on. This year, once again, Toga
and Luau were held on the same weekend. This year,
however, was a bit different. More people attended
Luau than Toga. Despite the drop in attendance both
parties were a huge success.

!/

"I can't believe the costume I just saw." Melanie gossips with a friend.
"No — I'm not stupid. I wore a shirt under my toga."

87

Shawn let out a sigh of relief when he learned that men can look like witches too. Rod won the award
for most realistic witch.

Melinda, Laura. Tanya, and Hope showed their support for the Rugby Team by coming as their
favorite player.

88

Matt was shocked to learn that Chris would actually let himself be
seen in his tacky attire.

Stephanie and D.D. showed off the latest fashion rages; Reggae
and Vogue.

Granville's Halloween
Bash

Once again the biggest event of fall term was
Granville's Halloween Celebration. The cold night
didn't keep many inside. The courtyard held many
scary sights which were kept warm by the bonfire
provided. Costumes ranged from storybook characters
to Rugby players. Even Jason from the Friday the
13th series made an appearance. Everyone present
seemed to have a wonderful time.

Tina certainly had the right look for the Harley-Davidson chick she was supposed to be imitating.

Soon it will be Christmas day!

A Winning Season For
The Ladies!!

The Lady Knights started off the season with seven
straight wins. After losing the next three games, the
ladies rebounded by winning the three succeeding
games. The women's soccer team ended the season
with a 13-4-1 record.

The skill on the team was recognized with four
players making All-District. The four were Hayley
Ladell, Joy Feinberg, Cathy Feeley, and Kati Vines.
Luckily, the Lady Knights will only be losing two
seniors so their success as a team should continue.

Now you know why you can hear them
coming from a mile away.

At St. Andrews, when it snows we enjoy it.

Diversity is the key word at St. Andrews. This diversity has acted
as a catalyst of change during my four years here and hopefully the
process will continue. While putting together the yearbook, my staff
and I have tried to capture the special essence of St. Andrews.

Thanks to:

Chris Havens and all of my suitemates (Sarah Cooper, Tina Carter,
Susie Henry, Janice Bird, and Jennifer Franko) for the support and
help.

Sharon Frain, the best roommate ever and for writing the sports
copy.

Rooney Coffman and the photography staff: Josh Foote, Raylene
Kaufman, and Heather Jenkins.

Summer Brock for her guidance and patience.

And to all who have donated pictures.
