This  list  is  intended  to  be  as  com- 
plete and  comprehensive  as  possible 
and  to  serve  as  a  useful,  working 
bibliography.  It  aims  to  include  all 
books  on  the  subject  printed  in  the 
English  language  and  a  few  of  the 
more  important  in  French  and  Ger- 
man. The  list  was  first  submitted 
for  graduation  from  the  New  York
