and Clerk, who shall be chosen by the members present
—shall be of the body, and shall hold their offices until

letters the number in fellowship, baptised, received by
letter, dismissed, excommunicated, restored and dead,
since the last session.
Art. 5. No act ef this Association shall be binding
on the churches; but it shall be its duty to give its best
advice in matters of difficulty, and endeavor to preserve
the union of the churches.
6
Art. 6. This Association shall receive any church
that may petition by letter and delegates, if found
orthodox in faith, and moral in practice. Also, if any
church that is in order wishes to withdraw, she may, on
application, obtain a letter of dismission.
Art. 7. This Association will not fellowship any
church or churches, nor hold them in union, who are
engaged in supporting any Missionary, Bible, Tract or
Sunday School union society; advocate State convention,
or Theological schools; or any other society which has
been or hereafter may be formed under a pretense of
circulating the Gospel of Christ; nor any secret organi-
zation; nor will she correspond with any Association
that is engaged in supporting any of the above named
institutions, they being without a ‘‘Thus saith the Lord”
for them as to church.
Art. 8. If any church in this union shall become
offended with a sister church, in point of faith or prac-
tice, it shall be the duty of said church to have an inter-
view with the church thus offending, and if satisfaction
cannot be obtained, she shall call in the aid of one or
two other churches, who shall investigate the matter,
and decide according to their best judgment, and report
to the next Association, which will be final, and entered
upon the record as such; and if said church shall be
found guilty as charged, the Association will withdraw
from such church.

made by two-thirds of the members in session.

Abstract of Principles.
ARTICLE 1. We believe in only one true living God;
and that there are three that bear record in heaven, the
Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and that these
three are one.
Art. 2. We believe the scriptures of the Old and
New Testaments are the written word of God, and the
only rule of faith and practice.
c
Art. 3. We believe God elected or chose his people
in Christ, before the foundation of the world, that they
should be holy and without blame before him in love.
Art. 4. We believe in the doctrine of original sin,
and man’s impotency to recover himself from the fallen
state he is in by nature, by his own free will and ability.
Art. 5. We believe we are justified in the sight of
God, only by the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Art. 6. We believe that God’s elect shall be called,
effectually regenerate, and santified by the Holy Ghost,
and shall persevere in grace, and never finally fall away.
Art. 7. We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s
Supper, and the washing of the Saints’ feet, are ordi-
nances of Jesus Christ, and that true believers are the
only proper subjects of these ordinances, and the true
mode of Baptism is immersion.
Art. 8. We believe in the resurrection of the dead,
and a general judgment, and that the punishment of the
wicked will be everlasting, and that the joys of the
righteous will be eternal.
ArT. 9. We believe that no minister has a right to
administer the ordinances, only such as are called of
God, as was Aaron, and come under the imposition of
hands by a Presbyter, and in fellowship with the church
of which he is a member.
Art. 10. We believe that God has ordained good
works, that His children should walk in them; and good
works only, such as God hath commanded in His word,
and not such as, without the warrant thereof, are devised
by men out of blind zeal, or upon any pretense of good
intention.
Art. 11. We, therefore, believe that washing of
the Saints’ feet was ordained by Christ, to be done by
His children in a church capacity, until His second
coming,
Decorum.
ARTICLE 1. The Association shall be opened and
closed with prayer, and when opened, the Moderator
shall invite ministering brethren of our faith and order
to seats with us.
8
ArT. 2. If new churches desire to be admitted into
this Association, they shall petition by letter and dele-
gates; and on examination of orthodox and orderly, shall
be. received by the Moderator giving them the right
hand of fellowship. °
Arv. 3. Every querry sent to the Association by
any church in-the union, shall be read and put to a vote
by the Moderator whether it shall be debated or not. If
there be a majority for it, it shall be taken up and in-
vestigated; but if not, it shall be withdrawn: Provided
always, those be first considered which BLES the union
of the churches.
ArT. 4. Every motion made and seconded shall
come under the observation of the Association, unless it
be withdrawn by the member who made it.
Art. 5. Every person who speaks in debate shall
rise from his seat and address the Moderator, and shall
not be interrupted while speaking, unless he depart from

Art. 6. No person shall speak more than three
times on the same subject, without leave from the Asso
ciation,
Art. 7. No member of the Association shall have
the liberty of laughing during the sitting of the same;
nor whispering in time of public speech; nor cast reflec-
tions upon the speaker.
Art. 8. No person shall abruptly break off, or ab-
sent bimself from the Association without leave from it.
Art. 9. The names of the several delegates com-
posing this body shall be enrolled by the Clerk, and
called over as the body may require.
Arr. 10. The Moderator shall be allowed the same
privilege of speech as any other member, provided the
chair be filled; but he shall have no vote except the
Association be equally divided.
Arvt. 11. It shall be the duty of the Clerk to keep
a regular record of the proceedings of the Association.
