Energetic and spleen filled polemic against the Encyclopedia Britannica 11th edition (1911). Surprisingly ahead of its time in concerns about colonialism, racism and other systemic issues. Required reading for anyone seduced by the mythological image of the EB-1911 created by Britannica's marketing.

This book is contemporary to EB1911. It's not a case of looking back and judging history, but a contemporary criticism, all the more damning. Anyway, it's a polemic, it's supposed to be a rant.

Has assertion that the EB was full of racism, sexism and so are true and no doubt a product of the times. The same can be said for shakespeare. This book is not so much a correction of fact, more an anti-British rant.
