For Readers from India that to perticularly Karnataka people it is turly a gift.
All the places mentioned here are in close peripheral to Bengaluru And Mysore Region.
It will take you to those days when all those areas were completely away from 'Human touch'
Even still you can find some Geograpghical clues according to his narrations.
These Books are translated to KANNADA by the author K.P.PoornaChandraTejaswi as "KAADINA KATHEGALU" in 4 volumes

a salute to Jungle
I stumbled across this book by sheer chance. I have been a fan of Corbett and it was while searching for items related to Corbett, I heard of Anderson and soon picked this work of his.
It will take you to the world when life was slow. When, people had time to appreciate the beauties of nature which was undisturbed by Man. In this surrounding you tend to forget the trifles of modern life like getting a house or a car and starts looking at the bigger picture which is to be one with nature.
In such beautiful life, Anderson narrates the tale of Nine man eaters and one rogue elephant.
Read and re read this book. You will not cease to be amazed by it. I suggest reading Anderson's Omnibus as well.
Love to the life of bygone
