V. 3. Prolegomena scripsit Caspar Renatus Gregory, additis curis Ezrae Abbot. 3 parts in 2 v. Pagination continuous. Published by J.C. Hinrichs
Tischendorf's fourth important edition. The present edition, issued in eleven parts, 1864-72, represents Tischendorf's latest conclusions, and forms the standard edition of his Greek Testament. Since the publication of his third edition Tischendorf had discovered (in 1859)--the famous Codex Sinaiticus; and Nestle states that the text of this edition differs from its predecessor in 3,572 places. The critical apparatus contains fuller materials than are given in any other edition of the Greek Testament. Tischendorf did not live to publish a third and final volume containing full prolegomena, etc. The task of preparing this supplement was entrusted in 1876 to Caspar René Gregory, an American scholar at Leipzig, who, with the aid of Ezra Abbot, completed the work in three parts (1428 p.) issued between 1884 and 1894. Since then C.R. Gregory has published his "Textkritik des Neuen Testamentes" (Leipzig 1900-02), which presents the most complete survey of what has been hitherto achieved in New Testament criticism
v. 1. [Kata Matthaion -- Kata Ioannen] -- v. 2. [Praxeis -- Apokalupsi Ioannon] -- v. 3. Prolegomena scripsit C.R. Gregory additis curis Ezrae Abbot
