The following signals will take precedence in the order in which they are assigned
and must be obeyed without question or exception. The individual signals must not
be used unless authorized by those to whom they belong or for answers to messages
sent under signals. Signals on messages and answers thereto must be sent and copied
at the beginning of such message by sending and receiving operators :
First — " Time.'' Must not be interrupted.
Second—" Wire." Used only by those authorized to test wires and for that purpose
only.
Third—" 9." Train orders; may also be used by all to prevent or report acrid nt.
Fourth—" 91." President, Assistant General Manager and General Superintendent.
"Wk." Call for wrecks, washouts, or any case of temporary cutting-in on wires,
where no regular assigned call is given.
"Dn." Denver will relay business from Second and Third to First and Fourth
Divisions, and from First and Fourth Divisions south of Pueblo, excepting Del Norte
Branch, to Second and Third Divisions. Salida " S" relays from other First Division
offices to Second and Third Divisions and to and from points on Second and Third
Divisions to and from Del Norte Branch, and between Second and Third Divisions, also
Monarch and Aspen Branches. Pueblo relays to and from First and Fourth Divisions
and between First Division points not otherwise provided for. Gunnison relays
Crested Butte, Lake City and Ouray Branches. Leadville relays Blue River Branch.
Tennessee Pass, Graneros, Husted and Gunnison may be used as relay offices for busi
ness to " Dn" from day offices between 6 and 8 p. m. Alamosa relays for Silverton and
Espanola Branches and between points on Fourth Division and Del Norte Branch.

Telegraph Wrecking Boxes are located at Denver "Dn.1' Castle Rock, Palmer
Lake, Husted, Colorado Springs " Cs," Pueblo "Sb," Canon City "On," Alamosa "Rm,"
Cuchara, Chama. Durango " Dg," Salida "Ry," Gunnison "Gu," Montrose, Grand
Junction "Jn," Leadville "Q" and Glenwood "Gn." Special cars " Bally Clare," "A,"
"C," "K," "N" and " R." N. G. wrecker at Salida ; N. G. wrecker, Gunnison ; S. G.
wrecker, Second Division; wrecking car "OC,1' S. G. snow plow, Salida and General
Roadmaster's office, Pueblo ; also carried by following conductors : Donley and Weir,
First Division; Dubbs, Willis and Roberts and Brakeman Willis, Second Division;
Conductor Brunton, Third Division ; Conductors Curry and Lowe, Fourth Division ;
and with W. D. Lee, Superintendent, Ridgway, and W. G. Choate, Superintendent,
