Set sail before the sun
Feel the warmth that's just beg
Share each and every dream;
They belong to everyone.
— Joyce Button

Ouvbury Free Library
It seems wherever I go
People come into my life
Or go out of it
Touching me where I can feel it
Then leaving me only a memory
Like the gossamer tales of childhood
Easily forgotten
And I wasn't through knowing them.
How do I know
When I am seeing for the last time
How do you halt your life
To gather and keep all those around you
That you've ever known . ...
And how do you keep im^^^^^^^^^m
Fairy tales from losing their magic.
So come
Brush against the walls of my life
And stay long enough for us to know each other
Even though you'll know
We'll have to part sometime
And we both know
The longer you stay
The more I want you back when you are gone
But come anyway
For fairy tales are the happiest stories we know
And great books are made up of little chapters.
Joyce Button — for G.S.
DEDICATION
The graduating class of 1982 is and always will be
grateful for the members of the faculty who are not
only effective teachers but who also truly care about
the students in this school. To express this gratitude,
we have chosen one such faculty member to whom we
have dedicated this book. Even though he has not
been at Duxburv High School very long, he has con-
tributed a great deal. As well as teaching in the Social
Studies department, he is the Student Council advisor
and a frequent chaperone at dances. He is always
willing to volunteer his services or to just stop and
talk. Each of these extra efforts has made this person
more than just a teacher to many of us. Therefore, it is
with great enthusiasm that we dedicate our yearbook
to Mr. John Fernandes.

Memories or" yesterday
make you want to cry —
Dreams for tomorrow
make you want to strive
The feelings of today
are the only ones for now
But as time goes on we realize,
life is only a game.
You are but one number,
some will be satisfied, some won't.
Those who are satisfied do not change,
their number goes on for eternity.
Those who are not satisfied, change,
their number turns into a word, an expression.
ir.c most or ill — Love
Donna Stevens
We ire the dor:.
We leave behind our heroes, find new ones and
become heroes.
W e ve grown and changed, looking for new questions
and answers to old ones
Realizing the strength and weakness of our youth.
We will go our way not coming full circle to an
identical point, but spiraling out . . . further . . . stron-
ger . . . newer.
Finding wavs. though we may never find our own.
special way.
Reaching out. creating, improvising.
There are no charts, no maps only a compass
magnetized by sense, buffeted by grief and love.
No longer touched by some, yet still remembering old
thorns, old joys.
Then twisting, molding them into new lives . . . our
lives We will live.

D.H.S. Band
Under the direction of Mark Gosciminski, the
D.H.S. marching and concert bands have estab-
lished themselves to the community as success-
ful organizations the past couple of years. The
marching program has grown considerably since
Mr. "G" took over 3 years ago, and the band is
quite capable of carrying out far more difficult
half time maneuvers than most surrounding
towns are. Halftime soloists were Jeff Barrow
and David Armstrong.
The 1982 Concert Band was equally talented.
Recommended for all — state district auditions
were Stacey Winkley, Eric Rizzato, Mike Mun-
sey, and Phil Chisholm.
