E, the Static Club of America, Inc., wish to
inform the manufacturers, photoplayers and
the public of the aims and object of the Static
Club. The Static Club was organized, pri-
marily for the improvement of technical work
as applied to the art of cinenapography.
Last winter all the companies were having
serious trouble with "Static," and several of
the cameramen had a meeting to discuss and
eradicate this trouble if possible. The Static Club has as-
sumed the status of a large and serious minded body from
a rather humble beginning, and is devoted to the improve-
ment of the work of the cameramen, as the discussion of
various new effects is commonly the main topic of conver-
sation at the Club. This fact is evidenced in the great ap-
parent improvement in photography in the last nine months.
The membership of the Club has grown apace with the
improvement of the work, and at present the Club is in
temporary club rooms at the Wilson Building, corner of
First and Spring Streets, and holds its regular business meet-
ings every Tuesday evening at 8:30. Feeling the need of
larger and more luxurious quarters, together with a com-
plete library of photography and lecture room, the Club
decided to give a Ball at Rutherford's Hall, January 1 6th,
1914, to defray the expenses incurred in outfitting a new
home, and the support of the Photoplayers and all people
interested in Motion Pictures generally is earnestly solicited
in our venture.

The Static Club is primarily and essentially a social or-
ganization, devoted to the betterment of technical work as
applied to cinephotography.

With deep feeling and sincere thanks we give voice to
our appreciation. With hopes for future reciprocity we
extend our humble words of praise to those whose broad
heartedness and hearty co-operation has made the Static
Club Ball and Program a decided success. We thank those
who have so readily volunteered to participate in the Ball.
We thank the press for the splendid help and assistance,
in keeping before the appreciating public our noteworthy
efforts. We thank the advertisers in helping us make up
this program and we heartily recommend them to the
public as the most reliable and progressive merchants of
Los Angeles.

We thank you one and all; we thank you.

STATIC CLUB OF AMERICA.
