Place of publication suggested by bookseller's blurb
Speculated date of before 1759 for publication of this work can be traced to historical events such as the Jesuits' expulsion from Brazil in 1759 and the mention of Pope Benedict the XIV on p. 6 who died in office in 1758. The war of the Seven Reductions, in which the Guarani Indians had risen up against the Jesuits in Paraguay and Argentina, had taken place from 1754-1756
Anonymous pamphlet in which the author accuses the Jesuits of corruption and ruling in an absolutist regime in which the Indians were deprived of rights and liberties, such as the right to own property and govern themselves. The author gives a list of abuses and crimes against the Indians and mentions that many of the native Indians were forced to leave their own lands. The Jesuits are also accused of financial usurpation of monies and goods from both land and water-based commerce of the native peoples
