Support for Humanitarianism through Intercontinental Projects Incorporated (SHIP) is committed to improving the
quality of life for underprivileged populations throughout the world by providing medical care and education withoi
discrimination. Our principles are based on medical ethics and are impartial to race, color, sex, religion, or politica
beliefs. Our activities will encourage current and future healthcare providers to promote humanitarianism by their
participation in our charitable purpose and projects. Our largest project this year was a month long medical missio
to Kenya, where over 4,000 patients were seen by LSUHSC Shreveport medical students and doctors.

College, the SNMA boasts over 40 years of service to underserved communities and medical students.
INMA is committed to increasing the diversity of students that consider and prepare for medical and scientific careers.
Vorking through local chapters, SNMA is proud to organize and sponsor local Pipeline programs that directly serve minority

The EMIG is dedicated to helping students decide on a specialty, informing them of EM choices and residency
application procedures. Students are exposed to the ER environment via shadowing and clinical workshops
on common ER procedures. Shadowing allows students to become immersed in the fast paced lifestyle, while
clinical workshops give hands-on experience in suturing, intubation, ultrasound, and splinting. Through all
these learning opportunities we hope members come away with a better understanding of what it means to be

The Pediatric Interest Group (PIG) is an organization that helps students learn about the field of Pediatrics and
involves them in various service activities throughout the year. Some of the activities include decorating and
participating in the annual Pediatric ward Halloween, Christmas, and Easter parties; involvement in the
community's "Reach Out and Read" program; and organizing a book drive for the Pediatric clinic. These events
and other group meetings offer wonderful opportunities for students to meet current pediatricians and learn
from their experiences and mentorship.

rhe LSUHSC-S OB/Gyn Interest Group is a local student-run interest group open to any medical students interested
n obstetrics and gynecology, its subspecialties, or simply women's health. The group meets four times a year to
earn more about the field of Ob/Gyn and to discuss issues pertaining to women's health. Complimentary lunch is

Camp Tiger

Camp Tiger is a five-day camp held each summer for children with physical or developmental disabilities
ages 7-12 years old. The camp is planned, organized, and staffed solely by first-year medical students
