IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT,

YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT.

IF YOU CAN DREAM FT,

YOU CAN BECOME IT.

"I shall light a candle of understanding in
thine heart, which shall not be put out. "

Old Testament 2 Esdras xiv, 25

This year has been a unifying one. The impressive way that the Salve commu-
nity has pulled together in this past year shows that we are able to get through
anything together. Not often are we able to stop and appreciate our beautiful
surroundings. I hope that this yearbook has captured some of your favorite
places.

I would like to thank so many people who have helped*tn the production of this
book. A huge extended thanks to Norval Garnett, our Jostens representative, to
the entire yearbook staff and of course to Kristin Stahl and Michelle Brais.
Also, a very special thanks to the assistant editor Julie Scansaroli. Without all
of your encouragement and support, this book would never have been com-
pleted! Thanks for everything!

To all graduates, good luck in your future ende'avores. May you be happy and
very successful wherever life may lead you.

:::*

Good luck to all!

A Message from the President

SALVE

REGINA

UNIVERSITY

The future is connected to the foundation of the past. As your experiences at Salve Regina become part of
your past, you will know that your Salve education has prepared you well for joy, challenge, discovery and
adventure. Each and every member of your class has been changed through your experiences at Salve
Regina. 1 pray that your time at the University will always be remembered as a time when you experienced
compassion, hospitality, freedom, a deep respect for the dignity of each individual and the true Mercy
Spirit.

The devastation and loss of thousands of innocent lives resulting from the violent acts of aggression against
our democratic society on September 1 1, 2001, changed our lives. While each of us was deeply saddened,
our hearts and minds were immediately drawn to console the tens of thousands of family members and
friends of those innocent victims. In reaching out to them we found ourselves reaching out and consoling
those closest to each of us. Many of us discovered, for the first time, our most valuable assets — family and
friends. We further realized how important it is to fully live and treasure each moment of our lives.

While our campus brims with cultural history and physical beauty, events during the fall of 2001
demonstrated that the most precious gift we share is the gift of friendship. Salve Regina is a community of
individuals who feel genuine love and concern for one another. Many cherished and profound relationships
have been formed at Salve Regina. I pray that the grace and tradition of our environment and the care,
compassion and concern that you have experienced during your student years will strengthen you and serve
you well throughout your life.
