Killed in action.

The time of service of the Twelfth Regiment Infantry having expired, the original
members entitled to be discharged were ordered to Portland and were there mus-
tered out.

The re-enlisted men and recruits were organized into a Battalion of four companies
under Lt. Col. Illsley, and will hereafter be designated the 1st Battalion, 12th Reg-
iment Infantry.

A list of the enlisted men of the 12th Regiment Infantry mustered out at Portland,
is herein published. It should have been published in the December return, but on
account of the delay which must occur before its publication, it was thought proper
to insert such list in this return.

List of enlisted men of 12tt Maine Volunteers mustered out at Portland.
