THE ROBBINS FAMILY OF CAPE COD. _.

Compiled by H. N. Latey.

Note.— The following data have land from his father, who had pur-
heen collected from many source?, chased it from one Johu Pugsly, who
the most important of which is a man- died before 1711. It Is probable,

THE ROBBIXS FAMILY

daughter of the first Samuel of that
naiue. Mr. Robbins assumes that
John might have been a child of this
marriage. Inasmuch as there was
at this time a family named Childs
in Barnstable in which Samuel and
Richard were family names, this lino
if proved may clear up the uncertain-
ty as to the mairlen name of Sarah,
wife of John Robbins.

2nd. The frequent use of the name
Richard in the Cape Cod family sug-
gests the descent from Richard of
Cambridge, who had a son John born,
at Charlestown May 31. 1640, not
accounted for in the records, although
mentioned in the will of his father.
'This man appears somewhat old but
the deed above referred to would
seem to indicate that in 1713 John
was old and infirm and unable to take
care of himself.

If he is not descended from one or
the other of the above it is believed
he was an emigrant from England
and had no known connection with
other American families. ■ ■ ''
