Because of his congeniality, generosity, patience, frankness, keen sense
of humor, and mischievous grin, we fondly dedicate this 1948 Rocketeer to
our red-haired High School Principal, Mr. J. A. Bullard.

President Roscoe C. Pugh

Synonymous with Mississippi education is the name of
Roscoe C. Pugh. He is a native Mississippian and has devoted
his life to the promotion of our state and national education.
President Pugh received his B.A. degree from Millsaps Col-
lege, Jackson, Mississippi and his M.A. degree from the Uni-
versity of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi. On July 17, 1948,
he will have served his twelcth year as President of North-
west Mississippi Junior College and in this period the College
has made more progress than ever before in its thirty-two
years of existence. To the man who has brought Northwest
to its present rating and to a great educator, the Rocketeer
on behalf of the Student Body pays tribute.
