WISH TO CONGRATULATE

Roxbury Community College

ON TWENTY-FIVE YEARS

OF EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE TO

THE COMMUNITY.

Northeastern

UNIVERSITY

Dear Friends,

The historical significance of Roxbury Community
College's 25th anniversary is couched in the reports of
its struggles, the strengths of its community and the importance of its triumphs.
With embittered or sweet memories, RCC has had to perform for the successes of
the thousands of adults, who through no fault of their own, were once left unpre-
pared for college success.

The 25th Anniversary of RCC is a time to celebrate more than its overcoming, it
is the time to celebrate its future. RCC, now stable, sound, and fully accredited
is confident, proud and capable of carrying forward its mission and goals. RCC's
success will continue to come from the kinds of exemplary leadership shown in our
honorary co-chairs who are leaders in health, education, business and the legisla-
ture. The leadership will need to continue from our community roots identified in
part in our silver stars, in the gala committee and with the friends who join us
in person and in spirit. RCC's success will be not only in her strength but the com-
bined strength of the kinds of commitment we see in Northeastern University, our
corporate sponsors, and those fine businesses who have given RCC the best of their
time and talent. They have provided for you international cuisine, fine entertain-
ment from jazz to gospel, gifts for our silent auction, and paid advertisements.

If it takes a whole village to raise a child, we must have what it takes to raise a
whole community of destined stars of many bright colors to the fullness of their
potential.

Welcome to RCC's Gala event and a Happy 25th Anniversary.

Grace Carolyn Brown
President

On behalf of the students, staff, faculty, Board of Trustees
and the RCC Foundation of Roxbury Community College,
I would like to thank each and every one of you and those
who are unable to be with us this evening for the tremen-
dous support you have given this Institution throughout
the past twenty- five years.

I would also like to thank all of the restaurants, vendors,
corporations, community and education institutions, First
Choice Limousine Service, and the News Media... particu-
larly, the Bay State Banner. Without your support, this
night would not have been possible.

With much gratitude,

Grace Carolyn Brown

President
