Dedication

Scott P. Cromack
1971-1990

In Memory of our Classmate and Friend
SCOTT P. CROMACK

Throughout our two years at Stockbridge we meet many people and are
blessed by the friends we make. There is one special person who touched the
hearts of all of us.

Scott was strong, athletic, and full of spirit. He gave his all in everything he
did, and made many friends wherever he went. During his freshman year in
Turfgrass Management, as a new brother of Phi Sigma Kappa, and through the
months of his internship at the Nassau Country Club Golf Course, Scott had
experienced a growing sense of confidence, competence, and direction. He was at
a high point in his young life when a tragic diving accident caused his untimely
death on July 31, 1990.

In thinking of Scott we remember:

his smile, and his laugh; his love of life; and his spirit of
adventure; his energy for work or play; and his commitment
to family and friends.

Scott touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will always be a part of
our fondest memories of Stockbridge and the class of 1991. Therefore we
dedicate this book to SCOTT P. CROMACK, classmate and friend to all who
knew him.

Remember Scott

Growing up together they played a lot,
with bats and balls their Mom's had bought.
They were both farm kids and accepted their chore.
My son and his best friend, who lived next door.

He was our neighbors' first, they named him Scott.
He showed speed and agility as an active tot.
Flitting and darting like a little water bug.
With tiny brown arms, he gave his Mom a hug.

Developed his strength helping Dad on the farm.
He was a mischievous kid, but did no harm.
You wondered what trick he had in store,
as he showed that grin he often wore.

On the fields he proved his abilities as athlete.
Would answer any challenge, and accomplish the feat
He was solid and muscular but not too tall.
With a constant attitude to give his all.

He showed the heart and courage of a lion.
Leading and blazing a trail for brother Brian.
With snow on the slopes, he liked to ski.
Wildly he charged, showing his spirit so free.

He kicked up cinders while running track.
Shiftily toted the pigskin as a running back.
Was tenacious on defense, and liked to hit.
With confidence and determination, he never quit!

When he became of age, he got a car.
Which he beat all up, but drove it far.
He went down to Stockbridge, to study turf.
Never reached the beach, but longed to surf.

He lived every minute as if his last.
Enjoying and not wasting it, forever going fast.
His spirit most likely soaring, up in the sky.
But he left us so soon, we all wonder why.

Is he riding with wind in his face on a shooting star?
Or in a perpetual race with destiny, going way afar?
So with tears on this page, I enter his story.
And we pray that he made his call to glory.

Stockbridge Alma Mater

'Neath the elms of dear old Amherst

Stands our college fair,

Hail to thee our Alma Mater

Stockbridge Students go there.

Working ever, falter never.

Onward to our goal,

Give your best to dear old Stockbridge,

Body, heart and soul.

Tho' the hours are quickly passing

And we soon must part.

Thy great halls will not be lonely

They contain our hearts.

In the future thoughts will wander

Back, and we will see

Scenes we knew at dear old Stockbridge;

Always dear they'll be.

Director

Harry L. Mosher

Dear Graduates:

The long hard pull is over, and the world awaits your talents - go for it! But do not forget us. We always
look forward to your stopping in for a visit or writing us a note to tell us what you have been doing. Just
think what is ahead. New jobs, new experiences, new friends, new places. How exciting it can be.

Your alumni association is eager to keep in touch with you in order to send you several newsletters each
year in which we try to keep you posted on the changes that are taking place (i.e., new programs, new facul-
ty, new facilities). But, we cannot send them to you if we do not know where you are. So, even a postcard
stating an address change will be welcome.

Stockbridge is a unique school. It has heart; it has comaraderie. The two years you were here make you
part of a proud tradition of training high quality people for agriculture and the green industry. Congratula-
tions; we are all proud of your accomplishments, and we know that this is just a precursor of good things to
come.

STOCKBRIDGE

The class of 1991 has been very fortunate to have two of
the most wonderful secretaries on campus. Karen Cerow and
Elizabeth Weirnasz are the special individuals who work in
the Stockbridge main office and have done more than the
average for the students of Stockbridge. Karen and Elizabeth
have acted as administrators, organizers and even advisors
for all of us. We all thank them for being two of the best
friends any of us could ask for and for always being ready to
lend a helping hand. We, the class of 1991 offer Karen and
Elizabeth the best of wishes for their futures.

Alpha Tau Gamma

Alpha Tau Gamma is the heart of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Serving its neighbor-
ing society with a number of philanthropies and social events, Alpha Tau Gamma proves to be a
powerful organization. With 24 brothers in the active chapter and over 500 alumni. Alpha Tau
Gamma is dedicated to serving and achieving our utmost goals.

After regaining our charter back this past year, the brothers of ATG dominated in academics
by receiving the second highest cumulative average out of all fraternities and sororities in the Fall
of 1990. Alpha Tau Gamma is proud to be a part of the Stockbridge School and thanks everyone
for their support in making this past year a memorable one.
