A rare dictionary -the title reveals the truth
Tamil is called by this dictionary by the name 'Malabar"! The Europeans did think that Malayalam (Malabar, as they called it) and Tamil were like the right and left hand of a person. Hard for them it was to view them as two different languages. But amusingly and ridiculously most Keralites trace the birth of Malayalam to Sanskrit! Funny!!! The Tamil type used is very crude.
