HE LEGEND A, on this its fifth birthday, is happy in bringing to its friends, both old

and new, most cordial greetings. It is with modesty becoming to youth that this
child of Wellesley makes her appearance, but it is also with the confidence of one who is
assured of the warm reception always given by Wellesley's loyal supporters to all her
publications.

This little book is presented to the Wellesley world with no apologies for its sim-
plicity; for while the completed work does not represent the ideal of the Class of Ninety-
three, — the realization of which unavoidable circumstances have rendered impossible, — still it
is an attempt to offer, in an attractive form, a book which shall represent the various interests
of our Wellesley life, and at the same time, through its lists, provide a convenient book of
reference to those interested in our college population.

The illustrations have been selected that they may express in a way more suggestive
than words, the charm of the surroundings of the " College Beautiful," while blank pages
have been inserted, so that the views already included may be supplemented by personally
selected photographs.

It is the hope of the Class of Ninety-three that her simple work may be but the
stepping-stone to still better things in the future.

Luxury in Brass

The ear is the road to the heart, and the heart
is the road to happiness. with both ears, then,
listen to a few brass bedstead arguments.

Consider Price. You think them expensive. So does half the
piirchusini; world. But have von secured our prices. Is $i().yo aitd tip-
wards exlravagaiil?

Consider Beauty. There is (inly one thing that perpetually
keeps its youth, and that is a Brass Bedstead. It cannot scratch,
and if lacquered, will not tarnish. It is miles ahead of every other
l"iedstead in beauty-
Consider Durability; it lasts forever. Ct:)nsider comfort: no
dust or dirt; always clean. Consider convenience; it is lig'ht, easily
moved for " making' up," quickly taken apart, and compact for stor-
age. Every argument is somehow a road to its purchase.

Our general 288-pajje Catalogue mailed to any address on receipt of five two-
cent stamps.

"Heaps of Pearl"

'Methoujjht I saw heaps of pearl,
Inestimable stones, unvalued jewels."

It was in an uneasy dream that His Grace of Clarence saw this shimmering vision of priceless gems.
Yet its counterpart is open tt) the waking eyes of every visitor to our department devoted to

....Precious Stones....

Here are displayed fully $100,000 worth of white and colored crystals from Nature's great laboratory. The
stones are both mounted and loose, and include

DIAMONDS, RUBIES, EMERALDS, SAPPHIRES, OPALS, PEARLS, ETC.

We make a specialty of mounting stones to order in odd ways.

Very satisfactory purchases can be made at from $10.00 to $50.00, though, of course, tiie richest results neces-
sitate a somewhat greater outlay.
