First of all, with total appreciation and respect to the other tapers for this night, THIS IS THE ONE, folks. Sound Q. here blows away the other two. Second, just bumped into this show while cruising the '01 Phil uplds., listening to the Music Never Stopped- I could barely hear any vocals during the first few lyric-lines, obviously due to some on-stage techn. glitch. Patience...then the hair on the back of my neck stood up. It was Bobby singing!! The first two songs listed here have asteriks next to them, but no connected info further down the page to let us know...Weir was a special guest. Not only that, but- for some of you who may get a bit jaded with oft-times neat-and-tighty-ness of the Quintet compared to pre-80's Dead, or even to Further: the jamming on both these opening numbers is absolutely psychedelic! Oh yeah, the rest of the show is excellent, too.
Too bad so many folks don't bother to check out the more recent uploads of a given show, apparently just start pulling from the one with the highest no. of previous downlds., 'specially when they see few reviews, w/ none saying anything 'bout the sound quality. I've found so many hidden Archive treasures from patiently hunting, pecking, & comparing...it's been SO worth it!! This is one awesome AUD!
